@gotglasses OMG...when he sing the first on this Arias in italian - i think he can make of a little Pavarotti but a the moment not! sorry Over the Singer Mario Andretti has Pavarotti personal said at Modena: Mario tu sei il Pavarotti tedesco...so what will you now?
And even that is putting it mildly, um-pah pah um-pah pah lets sing this waltz rhythm song and go home is the attitude I'm getting, it's just sung casually by Paul without any artistic attention to detail, or the story, or for that matter the words. And while we're at the words, he could have learned how to pronounce them in some parts of the song, and know what they actually are in other parts lol WHAT IS OPERA COMING TO?????
LOL! Surprised to see you here Mooorhe. I imagine you worked up the courage as I did to delve for a moment into the world of Potts. Terrible indeed! This isn't real opera.
Yeah hehe, and then you get people who are like: You know since I've heard Potts sing I've been hooked on opera. It makes me wanna shout "You ignoremus, go and listen to real opera!!!!! You can also find it on youtube" lol
Joy is from the Opera World, Kelly from Pop, and Sara from Broadway... it was so cool to hear them all sing with Paul. I saw them live in Hollywood, FL and in NYC, and loved the whole show! I look forward to seeing them again some day! Paul is wonderful and the girls are amazing!
I purchased the girls' new cd, titled "Three Graces" and love every single song in it!
I purchased their cd too! I agree I love the entire cd. They are wonderful. Wish I could have gone to a concert too. Thanks for sharing your vids with us too.
I too purchased their CD. I bought it when they were here in Victoria, BC. I am fortunate to know their hairdresser for the tour. So i was lucky enough to hang with Kelly, and Sara at their hotel after the concert. Not only are they Beautiful, and Incredible singers... but they are also very down to earth. Love em.
The Three Graces are just beginning their career as a group. They had individual careers up til now. They are having Paul as an opening and I think eventhough as mentioned this isn't usually sung this way it was done so to have them together. Unity. I applaud them. New talent should have a chance and there is room for change. Appreciate opera for opera and the new forum for what it is. Music is special and brings joy to hearts. Just enjoy.
Paul's musical progress has been astounded. He obviously takes his craft with utmost commitment. He evidently is the same person and still unbelievabing about the unbelievable happening to him. But, make no mistake, he has the goods for the long run. His tour has proven a sensation.
WHEN HE LEARNS HOW TO SING!!!! Great to see HIS dream come true but he must see a reputable voice teacher, vocal coach, and linguist to fix his passaggio, vowels, and ETC!!!
First of all, this piece is not a Quartet; it's a duet that is written in Italian!! Why must opera lose it's legitamacy to get through to the masses. it is ALL music; just respect it's form!!!!
SHUDDUP YOUR IGNORANT BUFFOON!! Music is sacred, from Aretha through to Beyonce through to Puccini, and all I am asking is for anyone insterested in exploring it all, learn it well and respect the work it takes to do it ALL well. The "times" should be an excuse to be lazy and not perform any style of music well and respectfully. Think on it!
:) why to care, really, get over and DO BETTER Yourself! To seek for some lacking detail, when the person and the rest of the world feels no need to it...You know what I think...You operastudents know how this concentration and constant quarrel on and about HOW perfect techically someone sings, You know and feel that You actually loose what makes You worthful as an artist. You are losing and missing it and YOu cant bare that someone else isn't.
You want him also feel this humiliation what You Yourself have been crashed over by. Get on Your feet and reveal Your own talents, use Your education, but what's Pauls guilt? Just keeping what You are letting go :)
and hey, this what Paul's having - these are talent, and the PERSONAL qualities...This is the place to seek admiration and love...not the outer material things like even those skills...which he actually masters sufficiently, and actually in enchanting manner :) Operastidents, ven You are not just a complex voice-guiding apparatus but a person first of all...:) voice is just dust...
damn how I like whats happening to Paul :) this is gorgeous and beautiful. All the story and...talent, success, and ohhoo---envious step-people...like fairytale :)
AND YOU OPERASTUDENTS CAN GET YOUR PERSON AND ITS CHARM BACK..it's never lost forever, it's always there, just needs Your work to find again:)hey, Your own love and admiration by the others is always waiting in You.You may try to lose it, but actually You can't and You are funny trying...diction, staccato, legato, passaggio, bah...:D but tools are not the essence, this have Your teachers told You at least?:)tools are simply and only for bringing out the essence:) I just see so, maybe I'm wrong.
ANd they all seem to be much more confident here than in the brindisi post by pvgomez which was the very first night of the American tour! Good luck to 4 fabulous performers.
Good point! Working together is improving the show day by day. They need to get the mic levels balanced better, maybe they should hire another American roadie?
Not my favourite music piece of music, by a very long way, but this is a great bit of singing. Paul's Italian seems so much more assured than it used to be. Maybe his new teeth are now run in... Seriously, he has obviously done so much work on every aspect of his singing.

I actually got this video recommended to me by a friend. So incredible bad that I felt dreadfully sorry for Verdi.

I love this! As I've said elsewhere, this has special meaning since we YouTubers went to see the fantastic La Traviata
late last year.
So glad to have these videos to help us hold on till the next time we see Paul :)! Thank you, gotglasses!!!
