  • thank u for the settings . but what do they mean ? can u come up with a tutorial for that? that would make it a complete awsome package . thanks again .

  • Can someone help me on how to get the red color between light and shadowed parts on the skin. That's all I need to make my head look hyper realistic. Please help as soon as possible!!!!

  • Thanks a bunch man, this is really appreciated. Still worked for me with Max 2010, and coming from VRay, this switch to MR really was something I wasn't looking forward to, to say the least. But you made it really smooth ride, having a reasonable understanding of what SSS is already.

The 'Scale conversion factor' is the value that made the biggest difference to the end result for me, and really creates that 'wax'-ish feel.

    Thanks heaps nexgenviz!

  • Very nice. Thanks for uploading it.

  • Cool Tutorial, gives nice results. Thanks.

Woule very much like to see one where you actually explain all the different settings :)

  • this tutorial is cool to texturing faces small objects but I a want to render a land or rocks is difficult for mi

  • Which slot is for the "transparents" (That the ear shines red when a light shines to it from the backsite)

    Tahnks for your tutorial.

  • That's what SSS does. With the fast MentalRay SSS shader, you have colors for each of the 3 skin layers. The deepest one is the red one. The material is not actually transparent. It fakes sub-surface scattering, simulating that skin effect.

  • Good tutorial, keep them coming.
