Outstanding sound quality and a really good taste for selection quality recordings, congratulations. A really dream system for me, your recording sounding better on my system via Youtoube (Marantz SR4600 + Monitor Audio B4 :) ) than many other studio recordings I have.
@emaudiorevo Thank you very much! I'm wondering how good would be this system, using the Monitor Audio Platinum series, PL200 or PL300. A believe this should be my ultimate upgrade on speakers.
It's amazing that you have treble on 0 and it does play like that , that is really amazing. It does sound out of this world on youtube so I cannot imagine how it sounds live!
@summitsvift Thank you, summitsvift. The sound is very open, so I don't need to use treble adjusts. But sometimes depending on the record type and mastering, I need to use lower bass levels on the preamp. I believe this is caused by the room acoustics, plus the RS6 bass characteristics.
somebody said it best,,we are so attracted often to the quote best system o ut here,,,but that is very personal,,whats sounds pleasing to one might not be to another,,,,and that has nothing to do with the amount spent,,,ive heard hefty and put together systems which would do me no good in my sound room because of room acoustics differences,,,so its personal preference,,HOWEVER,,,I DO LOVE THIS SYSTEM POSTED HERE,,again job well done
@kyocira Thanks again, kyocira. I have been tried to turn things better. Recently I bought one external DAC, the Electrocompaniet ECD-1, but I'm not getting the best results until now. I need a better transport than the SA-8001!
@raytheprinter Thank you! The best comment ever made! I really must agree with you. Once the music (and how good is the sound for your ears) is pleasant enough to take us out of this world, all the rest is just fine.
@ckrohm For some records I getting some oversized bass, but I believe this is due to my room. Also, the Monitor Audio have a good bass response. Because this combination, eventualy I really have to adjust the bass :(
I like to add the Emotiva to the system when listening some types of music, like electronic or pop. The Emotiva adds a lot of SPL. I think some minor details are lost, but for those type of music, this is not a trouble! The sound turns more powerful, with deep and controled bass.
I attached a video of a Bliss track played through my sound system, my room is acoustically treated and my equipment is completely (100%) different than yours.
Have you thought about treating your room to improve the acoustics?
The reason I ask is that you seem to have a lot of flutter/echo going on.
The star of the show is obviously the ACCUPHASE ! I would even dare to say it deserves better gear around it, it is so damn good ! ACCUPHASE IMO is one of the finest brands among the very elite.
The Emotiva is a good budget amp,the Marantz ...great CD player. A great upgrade would be a Berkeley Alpha DAC .. the finest DAC south of 10K...for 5K !!!
@bsod4u2 No doubt the top component of this system is the Accuphase, very nice amp. In the mean time I should change the other components to match Accuphase level. Thank you about the DAC tip. I have been thinking to buy the Electrocompaniet ECD-1. Do you already listen it?
@Raposovski Electrocompaniet makes very high class gear,no I did not listen to the unit you mention. How ever there is ZERO doubt in my mind the Alpha DAC in on a whole higher level, you should compare it to upscale ACCUPHASE,dCS and WADIA multi piece DAC's! Not some...simply very good DAC. The Alpha DAC is OUTSTANDING, stands among the world elite and costs a fraction of the competition! That is the big deal.
Thanks! The XPA-2 give me the bass that I was looking for. Not only bass, but a precise bass, a good SPL on low volumes wich I could not get with the Denon PMA2000. It's important to note, that the XPA-2 assumes the signature of the pre-amplifier, as would be. When it is connected to PMA, the sound is very similar when using only the PMA, but stronger. When connected to Accuphase, it incorporates the same characteristics, like a more "tube like" sound of the E-308.

You really have to adjust the bass level? Then something is not quite right. Are the speakers to bassy or is it your room?
Why don't you use the Accuphase as sole amp? Is the combi with the Emotiva so much better? Just curious...

@BassThatHz2 I saw your video, very good sound!
My room do not have any acoustic treatment, so the sound shows some "big room" effect.
The camera microphone it's a lot sensible, making the echo effect even more noticeable.
In the near future I hope to move the system to another room, with better dimensions and acoustics.
