People here in Colorado, especially on I-70 drive way to fast for the conditions on the road. I have been caught in a blizzard on that road before, and people still go over 80 MPH when they can't see the road in front of them, it is not like that all over Colorado, it just happens to be those dumb Denver drivers that think they are immune to any danger that may come to them! :(
Please don't blame the weather its the people, I live in Colorado now, I use to live in interior Alaska and people wreck more here in Colorado in a day during a sunny summer day then people in Alaska during storms that people here can't even begin to.imagine . So it just might be stupid people, only way to fix those is with a hammer
I have been in Colorado many times driving in conditions like this and it never fails. Some DUMBASS says they know how to drive in this stuff (yea...right) and almost everyone in Colorado goes way too damn fast for the conditions. And the reasons they go too fast is because they all say..."I know how to drive in this weather"...so they haul ass and crash...then they whine about it.
It wouldn't happen if more people were paying attention and knew how to drive. I have seen a whole bunch of people on Vail pass tailgating and stuff in bad conditions. Even worse when it comes to their driving, I have seen a toyota spin out past the tunnel and he hit the center divider 7 separate times before getting stopped...7 TIMES!!!

i was stuck on i70 right out of copper for 6 1/2 hours. over 6 hours to get from copper to dillon. thank god i had green and tinted windows
