I know you are going to bring up Affirmative Action. Affirmative action was enacted because a lot of Employers and Managers would not even consider hiring a minority or women for positions. All Affirmative action does is require those individuals to look at minority/female applicants who are "QUALIFIED" for a particular position. Many co.s today are in violation for not making a good faith effort to secure those individuals but nothing is really done about it due to lack of federal funds.
Also, predominantly Black colleges were formed because Blacks were not allowed to attend White colleges. Today, you have Whites who attend predominately Black colleges for a variety of reasons. That's just the facts and I'm not playing the blame game. Our history is plagued with issues that weren't favorable to Blacks or minorities in general. Certain institutions and organizations were formed to combat those social injustices. It's just what it was and is.

Hmmm.... I agree with you on the double standard on every other color/race having free reign on color based pride except whites! I may be wrong, though, but i believe that the reason WHY these minority groups in the USA in particular have these really big deals about color pride is because a few generations ago, the world around them as THEY knew it was screaming "NON-WHITES ARE NOT PEOPLE! I think it's good to be happy with who you are, and to stand for something. These are things which you have developed through your life. I don't really understand what pride has to do with race. It's not something that anyone accomplishes. It is merely a trait you were born with. You can be happy or thankful to be a certain skin color, but being proud of it really doesn't make sense. You might as well be proud to have skin at all.

I know you are going to bring up Affirmative Action. Affirmative action was enacted because a lot of Employers and Managers would not even consider hiring a minority or women for positions. All Affirmative action does is require those individuals to look at minority/female applicants who are "QUALIFIED" for a particular position. Many co.s today are in violation for not making a good faith effort to secure those individuals but nothing is really done about it due to lack of federal funds.

Also, predominantly Black colleges were formed because Blacks were not allowed to attend White colleges. Today, you have Whites who attend predominately Black colleges for a variety of reasons. That's just the facts and I'm not playing the blame game. Our history is plagued with issues that weren't favorable to Blacks or minorities in general. Certain institutions and organizations were formed to combat those social injustices. It's just what it was and is.

What type of programming would you have on WET television? Would it be all White all the time because if that's the case you have plenty of other stations that already are 99% White. ie: CMT.
