  • There's a difference between hating, and knowing that what he's doing isn't that difficult. It's not to say that it's bad, but it's the same exact thing I do in my live sets. I take one break, slice it into a bunch of segmented clips, and launch them quantized to either 8th or 16ths.You think he's actually playing EVERY one of those drum hits? No, he's not. But it's still good nonetheless.

  • Yeah man. @hux2000, I don't care how many times I hear someone cutting up the Amen. I say "Amen" to that. It's sounds phat , will always sound phat.

Ce que tu fais avec le Korgkontrol C'est DOPE!!

  • That was the shitler! you are very talented. I find it extremely sad that pathetic assholes search for these videos and have the gall to try to bash them.

  • Anyone have the loops?

  • Where can I get these?

  • @PassionOfDeo cut em yourself you lazy cannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnrt

  • What Program are you Using ??? Are you Connected by midi or just usb ?

  • The Amen break was only used in one portion, the other portions were screwed with beats. I think its still cool.

  • LOL

  • JEL please slap this dude with your mpc

  • Korg padKONTROL?

  • looks like fun, sounds like garbage.

  • completly using this to advertise my own video... but only because i agree with the top comment. this is lazy, looks like fun to play but really lazy.... if your gonna buy a drum pad. drum with it.

Leave it off.. music is a movement.. in the sense if you dont like it then move the fuck on to something you do like... there is room for everyone and there tastes in the world... this guy aint bothering anyone.. in fact he is doin something have you dicks wish you could... EMBRACE MUSIC...

  • It doesn't sound bad though the beat is common. You can't say there is no talent in this cause not everyone can do this.

  • yeah totally crazy fingers

  • J'adore!

  • i think you need you update your asio driver mate. LOADS OF DELAY!

  • awesome!

  • haha. you should try pressing every individual instrument. its fucking insane.

but anyways. your doing it short as shit. actualy play the pads not just looped bullshit you didnt even make the loops.

  • i like this video, its cool and i think it looks pretty hard to me.

  • @JLFprod whats the name of that fine machine your using? :}

  • actually, i just teached my 8 yr old sister to do that...

  • this is the bassline from lucky pressure..

  • nice..

  • Jungle!!

  • Well, if you think this is fast, check out Arabmuzik, the beatmaker for Dipset.

  • @antoineen

arabmuzik is a lot faster !

  • @antoineen

the PROGRAMMED beats are fast, but his button mashing isn that fast at all.

lookup Jel from anticon, always live no sequencer.

    Do it NOW

  • amen will never die

  • @1999sickness

    AGREE!

  • Simple, but cool! If the music is good it doesnt need any explanations.

  • THAT WAS GODLY

  • let ya self go....... watch ya self flow lol that's dope man

  • fkn beautifull

  • sounds like the amen break?

  • @ilikeyourbass33 DAMN SON!

  • those sounds like samples amon tobin has used

  • nice stuff

  • O.O Wow that caught me off guard on :30

    Awesome!!

  • Comment removed

  • Bonne continuation!! g bien aimé!!

  • very good! I liked it sound ^^

  • which parameter does he influence with the upper right controler? beat repeat grid?

  • thats the next toy im gettin 5/5 dude

  • jungle

  • This is awesome

  • U sometimes get a quantizing effect when you have low latency without sound clipping..

that's why his playing seems to be almost perfect and at some poinf it's perfectly 1 key before the right place...

    Still nice...

  • that is why I dont like that Korg padkontrol

  • this is rubbish

  • Are you for real? ... fuck you the amen mashing is quality.

  • Ugh.

    Amen breaks ftl.

    Overused much?

  • No.

  • Fuck off, it being overused doesn't mean its a bad thing.

  • I didn't mean it's bad.

I'm just really tired of hearing it.

  • Meh, every button is a short loop and when all the loops already sound good together no matter what order they're played in, all this is is a demonstration of being able to hit pads at a constant rhythm. There's no skill in that.

And yeah, get rid of the Amen break. It's been done so many times that to say it's a cliche to say it's been done to death is itself a cliche.

  • Amen to that.

  • @hux2000 Amen is the bra , cant get rid of it .

  • a guitar has all the same notes as every other guitar but people always find new ways to push the same notes with only slight variations on the sound (in comparison to electronic music)

  • @hux2000 No one knows what your talking about.

  • @DigitalJediMaster ummmm...i do...

  • @drummerboy7516 Excellent. That makes one.

  • @hux2000 there is some skill in hitting it in time

  • @hux2000 Call the guy out when you can't even do this. Your such a douche

  • @XxbufferingsxksxX I wouldn't doubt he could do this. Like already stated, there is no skill involved in this.

  • @hux2000 someone always has to hate .. might as well be you

  • @hux2000 and of course you have no music on your page. ranker

  • @hux2000 Haters hate. hating takes no skill.

  • @evilgeniusfin YEah I know if it's original and it sounds good, who gives a shit? That sounded pretty good to me. I mean I could probably make drum and bass or breakcore if I tried too but I wouldn't even know where to start or how to start. It does take skill, not every drum and bass and breakcore track is completely random, if it was it would sound terrible.

  • @evilgeniusfin nether does what this guy is doing..

  • @hux2000 amen break? doesn't sound anything like the amen break, this is a breakbeat, not the amen break, he just used a snare and high hats that sound the same as in the amen break, u think u know so much about music, well fuck off and get better informed!

  • @djexpanium sorry but its the amen..

  • @djexpanium its a chopped up amen

  • @hux2000 ...ujelly?

  • @hux2000even if yer post is a year old, you obviously have never used an mpc or any device like it. if so youd know yer completely wrong. u cant just play in any order, the sounds also over lap ontop of each other they not just lil loops and this is how any drum n bass that uses this sound is made, squarepusher, u-ziq etc. so know yer music first.

  • gooddd

  • Very random...

  • pffff....what a shitty play ?

    random fun

    not live perfomance

  • where did you lost your ears? xD

  • do you use ableton live or another program?

  • please no more amens and no more 303's

  • latency or not it wasnt to bad you gotta admit he seems to be able to perform past the latency so i give it an 8

  • Try not over-using the amen brother break. It's old and unoriginal.

  • lol... what are u talking about

  • but the amen break IS dnb

  • U have broblems with latency buddy.

    one of 2

    It's either your camera

    or your ASIO latency.

But I still love... drill Drum

  • Its not the camera.. its def the latency..

  • yeh. you can hear the taps before the beat sometimes...

  • Jeez that sucked. Oh look, im setting my self up for a thumb down because of my own opinion.

  • this is terrible how did it get so many views??!??

  • I would guess that the knob is assigned to the 'Chance' knob in the Beat Repeat plugin, included in Ableton Live. If the knob is turned all the way to the left the chance of getting a glitch sound (made by repeating very short parts of the sample) is 0% and as you turn it right you get more chances of getting the glitch. With the other parameters of the Beat Repeat FX you can adjust how short is the repeating part, how many times it repeats, if it varies in pitch or volume, etc...

  • what did you assign the upper right turn knob to get that glitch sound? sounds cool

  • good question, i would like to know the same thing.

  • dBlue Glitch VST?

  • this foo can out it down, I'm sure most techno artists don't put it down live, usually a lot of quantizing going on. all you haters have to try it and see that its not that easy, and it will take you a while to put it down like that

  • beats are good, not liking the bass, it's not in sync and you're a bit sloppy. Nice effort just needs more practice.

  • nice. wher can I get some drumz like that, or make some, can any one give me some tips?

  • sweet dude!

  • sick as fuck!!!

  • nice one

  • how do u do the effect in 1:13??

  • Nice work man, ahh ppl always critic coze it's easier than to praise. Nice work again.

  • what a fucking mess...

  • do u even know what fucking drum and bass is..? loser..

  • the question is, do YOU know what drum n bass is?

  • ye i do xD.. i have a large collection actually :)

  • apparently i know a lot more than him or you about it...

because this is a mess... it's just sloppy crud. hope he's taken some effort to improve.

  • sounds like theres quite some latency, but it could just be the video lol

  • how do u here latency??

  • we can see it when he pushed a pad and sound is a bit later....

but it could be the video like he said

  • you see the latency....depends how long it takes from him triggering something to when you hear it. thats why he said it may just be the video with the audio and video not being in sync properly

  • nice work man!!

  • Not my kind of thing, but good work :)

  • I like it too. DnB isnt really what I'm into but this is cool. :-)

  • im sorry dude but ive seen better, a bit all over the place

  • People that argue and text coments all the time are geeks. You like it or you don't like it, if you don't don't watch it, its as simple as that. cool stuff JLF

  • WTF

  • fuckin' a dude.luv it. Pay no attention to all those failed artist/critics on here. That's a Killer DB beat there/. ^_^ Awsome.

  • You guys bitch too damn much I doubt that most of you could do any better anyway...very nice LIVE show keep up the good work.

  • intro needs work I agree, but great sound

  • enhhh... not a fan of the intro. Choppy bits all over, not the greatest DnB I've ever heard. Still better than a lot of stuff out there though, especially considering its played live, but it's no Jel.

  • Nice work

  • sounds crappy

  • Thats how you make Ragga Jungle.... very very very simple. The art is in making tha Bass and the amen sound tight ....

Good job, I like it...... NO HATTING HERE

  • 00:57 sounds like the powerpuff girls theme fighting song

  • its called the amen break, and its used everywhere.

  • HAHAHAHA agree xD

  • WTF??? STUPID FINGERS LOL

  • shti fucking loooooooser

  • you suck hellaa bad like a elephant on a rollercaoster

  • Yeah Right.Thats lame..bro 4 da simple reason that anyone can assign the knobs to a few AMEN Break loops in session view.I bet it sounds cheap mr. Producaaaaaaa!Post responce ill give you my myspace ahahaha and maybe more!

Big Up to all ya eastern EUropean Monkeys aaaaigh BULGARIA baby ahahahaha!

  • hi, nice one...what kind of effects do you have assigned on the knobs?

  • i was wondering this.

  • sounds .like a looper to me

  • this is awful, anyone can play a amen break looped

  • I want one of these now. This is effin heat son.

  • omy god dude, fingas = farting in our language, gz xD

  • wow!

that shit sucked. got it all quantized so his latency is mad wack. hits the pads a second before a sound responds. lame. also poor use of the amen. lame all around.

  • My guess is that his latency is fine.

The delay is caused by audio/video syncing.

  • i hope that was a joke...it should be obvious that the sound delay is from the camera recording...not the player or the equipment

  • motherfucking wow dude!

  • SICK GUY !!!! I NEED ONE NOW!!!

  • You sexy man.

Props to the music. I have reason, need to get me one of these....

I'll be getting ableton soon too, looks a bit better....opinions anyone?

  • I have Ableton 7.0, Cubase and Sonar Home Studio...and Ableton to me has the biggest bang for the usage. I love using it...though to me Sonar is easy and robust too...but I was shocked at how nice Ableton was and easy to use.

  • Ah, thanks for getting bake to me on that mate :)

Yeh, Its arrived today, I'll be picking it up from the post office tommorow morning....very excited :P It looked a cut above the rest to be honest....

  • hope you enjoy it!

  • If you dont me me asking what is the cost of this kind of kit?

  • actually, I didn't pay much for any of this...lol. I bought a Yamaha MO8 which bundles Cubase and when I bought my soundcard (E-MU 1212) it comes with Cubase, Ableton AND Sonar. I upgraded once I registered my software to get the full versions.

  • ;| heh słobo

  • i just switched to ableton and it blows reason out of the water!!!!!!

  • PHAT!

  • this is sick!

  • nice job!! =)

  • Aaah, the all-time favorite Amen Break. =D

  • Amen.. :P

  • yo do you guys know if the akai mpd 32 is comparable to this device as a synth controller, and to make breakbeats and stuff kind of like what this guy was doing near the end of the song.

  • Well the MPD 32 has more faders and knobs for control anything you want. Both Are essentially the same tool, both have 16 pads+4 pad banks and are both midi, so they are pretty much capable of the same thing

  • thanks man. i had a question about 2 more things how do the note repeat features compare, and personally do you prefer the xy controller over the knobs and sliders?

  • with two knobs on the top ive found myself using the xy pad a LOT more often then i have found myself wishing i had 'just one more knob' ESPECIALLY since you can use the hold feature with the roll button to put a whole nother aspect to instrument voices and delay effects

  • 190 euros, about 300 dollar

  • how much are they im getting one

  • it'll run you about $165. Be warned tho, they dont make those noises on their own! They need a DAW or VST to produce those sounds.

  • daw and vst are? :P

  • DAW=Digital Audio Workstation (ex: Ableton Live, Reason, etc.)

VST=Virtual Studio Technology (ex: Native Instruments Massive, Reaktor, Battery, etc.)

The controller in the video only controls what you have on your computer.

  • cheers mate :) got the daw ^^ just going to try and get it to work with it :) hehe

  • what program did you get?

  • where can i get one?

any websites u can give me?

  • google it

  • google m-audio and order a trigger finger. TF is the best value touch pad controller you can get. and it's fun too :D

  • hey that's really cool! you did a great job!

  • zak

    reason and fl can also

personaly i prefer reason to live though

    very good
