  • I Love my nuvi 760, LOVE IT!

  • wow, this video sucks.

  • @babieolivesteve Yeah, it was my first ever, sorry:-(.

  • Would this unit be useful to me for a trip to Japan?

  • now try walking or driving using this..

just got this on my nokia n95.. best program in the phone now(had to be installed) no touchscreen but good enough for something that is not even purposely built for gps only

  • I'm pretty sure that is the TMC traffic antenna.. Bluetooth is built in.

  • Yes, my mistake. Built-in Bluetooth is very cool. I have a Mot Razor phone now and use the BT link for hands free calling. It copies in my phone book and everything so my nuvi works like a smart speaker phone while my Razor is in my pocket ... very cool.

  • wow thats cheap where did you get the 680 for $220? was it a used unit when you bought it?

  • 6 months ago I got the NUVI 680 for $220 with everything, whats the differences between 660 and 680?

  • 680 IIRC has the MSN direct

  • Can you import your contacts from your computer to it? When you enter address in to it, can it save it.?

  • Whats the difference between the 660 and the 200. Does the same thing

  • cool!!

  • very nice it can go on any car right

  • It does not go on the car. It goes in the car. Any car that has a front windshield. Putting it in the rear window will make the GPS read backwards.

  • does anyone kno if theres a gps device that is specificly for trucks, like truck routes only, i am a truck driver and it sucks to get lost in the lito streets

  • There is a setting in the GPS itself that you can use Truck routes instead of cars. There is no specific GPS for trucks, every auto GPS is capable to use on trucks, just a matter of settings. Hope this helps.

  • sorry, the best is now the nuvi 760. with the integrated antenna.

  • great video larry !!! that helped a lot i just got my garmin nuvi 660 and u made everything real easy with your video ... thank you very much man ....

  • nice vid larry, can you tell me how to get a pic to act like a screen saver if its sits on idol for a while or in general if your one is not using the map or to go places to have a picture like a screen save

  • damnit, seeing him with one makes me want to get one

  • Hi Larry, Have you noticed any faults or shortcomings with the Nuvi 660?

  • Is unused/unaccessable potential a fault? The hardware is so awesome capable I wish it had a geek-mode open system where more cool features could be added by third parties to take advantage of the amazing hardware. I'd pay $hundreds more for software features that would otherwise cost me $thousands more - as I'm sure many others would too. It's the future, buy one as an investment in your future, ala Tandy Model-100 - still useful 25 years later!

  • ShipDog (dot)Com has them for $542

  • They're actually $449 as of today 12/16/2007...I just checked...I'll be getting one soon!

  • April 2008, Amazon #1 best selling electronic thing: $297 wow!

  • zumo is way better looking and can be used in the car too

  • The power plug has nothing to do with bluetooth. It is the FM traffic receiver.

  • Absolutely correct, my mistake. Men never ask directions, read assembly instructions or manuals. So the bluetooth transceiver must be inside the unit? BTW, the FM transmitter is really cool and I'm real sorry I lost mine - they be expensive! larry,

  • The FM TRANSMITTER - that makes it talk on the car's FM radio - is inside. The FM traffic report receiver is built into the power cord.

I found the FM traffic report feature is useless. I don't often drive in the big city. I'm 30-50 miles from town, so there's no data on my roads even though we still have lots of traffic.

  • thanks 4 sharing...

  • does it works in all the world ?

  • Yes it works in all the world. My unit has detail data for North America (all streets, gas stations, hotels, etc) and only basic map data for the rest of the world, however you can purchase and load detail data for almost everywhere - thanks to Navteq!

Hope this answers your question, mybest, larry, Pfranc of Oregon.

  • Hi Larry, mi name is John and i'm planing to buy next week this Garmin Nuvi 660, I live in Argentina, so I simply wanted to ask u if this Gps talks and have all the functions also in spanish. Thanks for sharing.

  • Yes, it speaks Spanish and many other languages too.

  • GRRR! your gps is better than my magellan roadmate300, My 300 has Track recorder. my gps can show the speed, direction, distance to the next exit, elevation etc. your gps supports music, radio, calculaotr, image viewer, Bluetooth, converter, etc. >:(

  • Is that on Jacksonville,Oregon?

  • Almost! We're in Murphy about 30 miles west of Jacksonville.

  • How about a follow up? Your experiences both positive and negative...Thanks!

  • thx for the demo

  • Thanks for the video but it would have been nice if it was in FOCUS.

  • Just got my nuvi 660 thanks to this video,,top class bit of kit !

  • AMAZING....good you share your passions with your fellow YouTubian people

  • Thanks for the video Larry.

Could you please tell me if the 660 can navigate to a set of coordinates?

My 660 is on it's way, I was just curious.

    Thanks again.

  • Yes, very easy, choose Where-To, then Coordinates.

    mybest, larry,

  • Thanks for posting this video man! Saved me the trip to the store to do the same exact thing and the annoying salespeople involved therewith.

  • Warning: If you load tracks into the NuVi-660, (and maybe the other NuVi's too? I don't know), it locks-up and will not turn-on. SOLUTION: Press upper left screen during power-up, then delete all waypoints. I'm sure Garmin will address this issue in the next software update.

  • NOTICE: Garmin fixed the track crash problem already in Version 2.06 released Nov 6th, 2006! Free download! Includes lots more improvements too. Way to go Garmin!

  • If you don't need the bluetooth and FM transmitter, the Nuvi 350 is a much more affordable option, with the same great maps and many of the same features. I bought mine at the beginning of summer, and Garmin has issued several substantial firmware upgrades even in that short time. Unlike the 660, this is small enough to stick in your pocket for city walking or geocaching, or mounting on your bike. A great product that would be a steal on eBay too, since there is no subscription fee.

  • Which TomTom GPS? Please be specific. I have tried this on A TomTom Go 700, TomTom Go 910 and a TomTom One and could never come up with a single phone number or address for any POI. So far, only in North America, TomTom uses the NavTeq map data in the TomTom Rider only.

  • Thanks for this video but i prefer my tomtom go910.

  • I prefer my Nuvi over the TomTom. Once advantage is that I could find many addresses as well as phone number on the Points of Interests. Have you try that on a TomTom yet. Well, you can't. You can only route to a POI but it but it does not display info such as addresses or phone numbers. Too Bad TomTom....

  • I wonder why? Is it because TomTom uses TeleAtlas and Garmin uses Navteq map data? Though now even TomTom is using Navteq data in their higher end units.

  • Are you sure? I dont think that is right. You can get numbers from poi on tomtom!

  • very informative video. I want one so badly. I always get lost when I tour San Francisco and Los Angeles, it would be nice to relax and let the Garmin take over. How about taking a video of you driving and using the Garmin?

By the way, those speakers area really loud for a small unit.

Good job and thanks for sharing your experience with your new toy.

  • I have the 360, I like it a lot. Great video, thanks for sharing.

  • Hey man nice video! By the way that's a nice music as well in the background during the first 5 or 6 minutes, whos that?

  • The background music was amoung several sample MP3's that came preinstalled in the unit, the coolest (I think) is called Autopilot by Electro, another is Bid Le Bou, EXOTICA ( Chill-Out Paradise Vol.1).
