  • HURTTTTT TOT

  • Anyone have some tip for glissando ... im using a digital piano but still

its hurt pretty bad when i do them , it hurt my fingers. i lost skin.

  • i tried this, all you could hear was the sound of my thumb hitting the plastic of my keyboard :(

  • My thumbnail fell off. Then the thumb. Then my hand. Now I'm dead.

  • will stuff like this work properly on an average mid range keyboard?

  • I can see blood forming under the tip of my thumb fingernail

  • ow.

  • Did he actually say it hurts "maybe a little bit at first"? A LITTLE? It's damn painful!! X_x

  • Ow...

  • i got blisters on every finger of my right hand for trying to do this.

  • @Parkjisung91 To quote Ringo Starr:

"I'VE GOT BLISTERS ON ME FINGERS!!!!!!!!!!"

  • I'M DYING OF BLOOD LOSS

  • It's like guitar, the more you do it, the less it hurts, calicus i'm guessing... Thanks so much, I got it on my first try on a upright acoustic. And I have fingernails as short as, well, they are just amazingly short, not to mention they aren't fully developed, since I'm still a kid.

  • yeah that's the best technique but it hurts as hell......poor skin! But I guess when you get used to it, it won't hurt as much......I once tried to do it with the side of the hand and my skin was red and I even saw a piece of it on the keys, lol.....so, NEVER do that.

But the technique this guy shows can also hurt......so I guess you'll just have to get used to it, and always use nails

  • every time i do this, i cut the skin below my fingernails D: PAIN

  • I kinda...skinned myself while doing this. :/

  • Can you tip on doing a gliss on a scale other then the chromatic scale?

  • @TheShau First of all, it wasn't chromatic. Secondly, it's impossible to do a glissando in a scale (except C major since it's all white).

  • This hurts.... Why do the SIDES of my keys have to NOT be painted......

  • ure the best nate!

  • Thanks for this video Nate but I realy wish you did a separate one where you explained what everyone must have been thinking - "And exactly HOW do I play that song that ends with the glissando?"

  • 1:19 - fail <_<

But great lesson! By any chance do you know if there is a lesson for the song you were playing? I've always wanted to play something like that, but have never managed to find suitable videos =/

  • Wouldn't that hurt a lot more on an acoustic piano? D:

  • @o0oxAzNPRiiDExo0o Actually it doesn't, if the wood is painted and polished, it actually goes smoother (but you have to press harder). On a keyboard, the keys are plastic and bend, so it kinda hurts... But thats just my opinion...

  • @jettelag yes, I was thinking the same. most keyboards keys require more finger strength than acoustic piano.

  • @o0oxAzNPRiiDExo0o it does. T_T

  • @o0oxAzNPRiiDExo0o Yeah, it does D:

  • @o0oxAzNPRiiDExo0o not really, I can do it quite well

  • @o0oxAzNPRiiDExo0o oh yeah. Believe me I tried

  • @o0oxAzNPRiiDExo0o it hurts a lot more on a real piano especially while you're not used to it and and you can't do it precisely either :P

  • Thank you

  • Yeah you rock man =] Thanks a lot!

  • thanks man

  • a tyipycall glisando song is dancing queen, right? :P

  • @explosiv95 Yup or sumthing like Jackson 5 - I want you Back :D

  • how do you do it with the palm of your hand? i saw ray manzarek of the doors do that

  • Sounds like a Yamaha P250 or a CP300

  • thanks

  • Your lessons are great! Thank you very much!

  • I'd like to know which virtual piano you are using. It sounds great! Nice video! :)
