What a beautiful arrangement! I remember going to live with my father following my parents divorce in the late 80's. We were watching the Smother's Brothers show on Father's Day and Chet played this song on the show. We did not have a VCR at the time, so I placed a cassette recorder by the TV and captured this song. I memorized the words and melody, but never took the time to figure out the chords. If it is not too much to ask, could you provide a TAB/lesson to this song?Thank you and God Bless

Thanks for this particular song. It has helped me over the past year. I lost my dad and your singing this has helped me deal with it in a fashion. I have watched it repeatedly when I have felt sad and depressed. The song is melancholy but I guess I find comfort somewhat in knowing that other folks have experienced the same pain and are dealing with it as best they can. After all, I do know that my dad would want me to go on with life . It has just been very difficult.

My heart goes out to you and my prayer is that that you would find solace in the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort. Sadness is healing when it draws us closer to God and hurtful when it distances us. I hope these songs inspire the former. So many are hurting from father issues which a heavenly Father is able and longing to heal. Soon I hope to put up another song related to fathers which blesses me as I hope it will you.

It's my own arrangement and I use a different tuning (D-G-C-G-B-E)or actually a step down from that (C-F-A#-F-A-D). If you are interested I can add you as a friend and put an instructional video in that section.
