After skimming through the self-help book: "How To Stay In The Lime Light Once You've Reached The Pinnacle Of Your Acting Career: Start A Band!" Ed must've researched the role of "band frontman" by listening to The Libertines and Babyshambles. Seemingly so much so that it sounds like he channeled Pete Doherty's unique grumbling shout from the beginning of "Up The Bracket" and mixed in a variation of the guitar riff from "Can't Stand Me Now."

Difficult to admit, I kinda like the song.

I totally agree! But I must admit I didn't know the band. I was watching Gossip Girl and was impressed with the charactor/actor of Chuck Bass, so I googled him and read about Ed. This is how I got to know the band. Of course Ed is sexy, but if that were the only good thing about The Filthy Youth, I would have grown tired of it already. The guitars (and all the rest) are awesome! :D

true. they do have the sound of the libertines and the babyshambles, but it's actually the typical british indie-style. many bands are influenced by them and so they may sound like the libertines. but they have their own style, too.
