  • GOD gives great gifts to some people this is an example

  • 2:46-2:47 Whitney you betta sing!

  • Praise Him girls!!

  • Whitney got outsang on this one. I wonder if she was holding back. But can't really say cause Natalie was a force in her day. RIP Whitney.

  • @SuperSoulSeeker to me she always hold back when she sings with people, she doesn't scream even when she sing high and long.

  • @sne19 she didnt hold back when she sang with mariah in "when you believe"...lol...check out that grammy performance

  • Correction on the title, it should be Natalie Cole "Bridge Over Trouble Water" feat. Whitney Houston. I remember the airing of this show (Big Break) and Natalie was the host. Whitney was a guest on the show.

  • Awesome, just totally, wonderfully awesome.

  • WONDERFUL!!!!!!

  • i love whitney voice its so beautiful she will never be forgotten

  • Thta, ladis and gentlemen, is the personification of soul!

  • Whitney forever ! :-).

  • As Aretha said it best- "The church goes WITH me."

    Thats how We do it.

  • The 2 young boys were killed by their own father, Renuited with their mother her little MIRACLES and now a voice welcoming them WHITNEY

  • Ach du Schreck. Zwei kreischende Weiber. Diese Version stinkt brutal ab gegen das was die Tante Aretha aus dem Song gemacht hat.

Queen of Soul is still alive, thats Aretha Franklin.

  • r.i.p Whitney

  • R I P Whitney,Gone But Never Forgotten! God Need A Saprono! Thats Why He Sent For U Whitney!!!...

  • so classic-too good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Amazing vocal artistry!

  • they really can sing!amazing!!!

  • OMG!!!!!! I have NEVER heard Natalie sound like this??? And this is old!! I saw a more recent gospel attempt from her and it was a major FAIL this HOWEVER sounds authentic and down right great!! Didn't know she could holler like that!! I am blown away!!

  • @OfficiallyRoyce Natalie is a great vocalist besides you heard Whitney belting gospel out any better recently?

  • @OfficiallyRoyce please remember old school Natalie" I'm Catching Hell" and "Inseparable" and you will understand how she can sing Gospel (sound). In addition, I'm sure here recent health has affected her sound. Yes I'm a Natalie fan lol... This too was prior to her crossover into jazz (to me a smart move) and where her sound for many years was different.

  • @music196721

Holy crap! This video is a find. Natalie Cole was the shit back in the day. I didn't even know her and Whitney sang a duet together. LOL Old School Natalie was on fiiiire! I can't say no if he asks me.

  • two amazing voices. a great song. they inspire. and YES...there is a bridge over troubled water...they both know what it means and i do too. so THANKS. i love them for singing. flaws and all.

  • Totally butchered a all time great song. This song was meant to stick to the melody all the other bs ruins this song.

  • @BBBYpsi It's called Gospel. You would have to understand where they're coming from. When Black people sing a song, it's coming from a whole different place, having to rely on faith through racism and many other trials. The original was coming from a secular slant. This version is decidedly Christian, more precisely, the Black church.

  • @prof32 Sorry but what they did sucks if they are saying they are singing bridge over troubled water.

  • @BBBYpsi No need to apologize. You're entitled to your opinion but it is just that. No one is losing sleep either way. They both acknowledge Jesus on this before they start to sing. The arrangement is based on Aretha Franklin's version of the song, popular among African Americans and brought a whole new meaning to it. Gladys Knight does it this way too, albeit a bit subtler. There's a clip of Art Garfunkel and Gladys singing together.

  • @prof32 Maybe another awesome version: Pauls Simon + Jennifer Holliday + Luther Vandross (right here on YouTube).....OMG!!!

  • You can't plan or rehearse this. It's too much and too real.

  • @2225530 They didn't rehearse or plan this. That's what made it so great. They cut a big piece out of this, though. I have the full version on VHS, but don't know how to upload. :-(

  • Love real voices!!!! God Bless you Ladies!

  • Two very great pipes complementing each other in the good old fashion way.
