@Luten2012 Usually when you put the game in it aks if you want to update the game. That is the patch.

Whenever you put a game in and you load the game, if it comes up with an update, then its a patch for the game. PS updates are when you try signing into PSN, and it asks for an update, those updates are for the PS3 itself.
