The stability of Islam is in the fact that u see humongous amounts of people converting, but little to none from this specific faith converting to another. In this time period where technology and science has evolved, you will discover through legitimate research that a lot of scientist have in fact converted, because of the many scientific discoveries in the Quran. Which especially in that given time period were completely impossible to be known without today's specific scientific equipment.

I have found documentaries about Christianity, Islam, Judaism and Hinduism, and they all describe every religion in pretty much same concept so it all becomes kind of boring and less interested, but this documentary about Quran is quiet impressive actualy.

@jannevellamo There are verses in the Quraan like eg: "Alif Laam Meem" and "Haa Meem" which are not standard arabic words and have never been used in anything other than the Quraan. God says that the meanings of these words will be revealed at the day of judgement and only HE (Allah) knows what they mean. This verse and the ambiguity mentioned in the verse points towards that.

As a reply to the fact that Prophet Muhammad took 8 wives to imply that he was both demeaning to women, and that he was sort of a lustful man, I would like to state the fact that he remained married one woman (Khadija) since he was 25 years old till 50 years old, keeping in mind she was 15 years older than him. After which he began having wives years after her death and for very specific situations and needs of his wives themselves to set example for situations where polygamy should be allowed.

The different versions obviously exist due to changing of accounts which naturally happened over the years due to no secure means of recording the revelation. Verse 7 of Chapter 3 also says that there are those with ill hearts/ wrong intentions or perceptions et c that will use these verses that no one but God can understand and twist them to their liking.

The stability of Islam is in the fact that u see humongous amounts of people converting, but little to none from this specific faith converting to another. In this time period where technology and science has evolved, you will discover through legitimate research that a lot of scientist have in fact converted, because of the many scientific discoveries in the Quran. Which especially in that given time period were completely impossible to be known without today's specific scientific equipment.

Of course, the simple truth is that the words were written well after the fact and are not the spoken word as often claimed, but were - at best - inspired words.
I'm more so curious as to why an omnipotent God would commune with so few people - and not many good ones either.

If I'm not entirely mistaken, the verse that says only Allah can interpret his own message should logically mean every Muslim scholar is way out of his league, putting meanings into the holy words. Should that not make every Imam a criminal and a blasphemer? They should pass a fatwa on themselves and order themselves stoned to death for such a sacrilege.

@jannevellamo There are verses in the Quraan like eg: "Alif Laam Meem" and "Haa Meem" which are not standard arabic words and have never been used in anything other than the Quraan. God says that the meanings of these words will be revealed at the day of judgement and only HE (Allah) knows what they mean. This verse and the ambiguity mentioned in the verse points towards that.

As these words quite often preach what is evil and incite hatred in people, I think it is safe to say their judgement day will not be a pleasant one. As a reply to the fact that Prophet Muhammad took 8 wives to imply that he was both demeaning to women, and that he was sort of a lustful man, I would like to state the fact that he remained married one woman (Khadija) since he was 25 years old till 50 years old, keeping in mind she was 15 years older than him. After which he began having wives years after her death and for very specific situations and needs of his wives themselves to set example for situations where polygamy should be allowed.

The different versions obviously exist due to changing of accounts which naturally happened over the years due to no secure means of recording the revelation. The Qur'an is like the Bible. There are numerous possible interpretations in theology but organized religion prefers one narrow-minded view that can be filtered for the convenience of the reader. However, the Qur'an is more narrow than the Bible. When you read the Tanakh, for example, the different accounts of Genesis are quite obvious. With the Qur'an, Muhammad took one single interpretation from every Biblical event and rendered it fact. So, in a sense, Muhammad is like a theological dictator.

@kleb100 The quran was written during his lifetime, but not compiled in 1 book, there were 40 scribes companions of the prophet, after prophets death, quran was compiled in 1 book under 1 caliph AbuBakr and was given to Hafsa the daughter of Umar ibn Khattan (2 caliph) who was the wife of prophet Muhamed; under the 3 caliph there was the standardization of the text in recitation since the quran can be recited in different ways like dialects

In the time of Caliph Uthman (r.a), the already compiled Al-Quran IN FOREIGN COUNTRIES (where it was written in other arabian slang) was refined in the terms of the slang, so that it will only written in Quraisy Slang (original slang when it was first delivered by prophet Muhammad pbuh to Meccans and Medinans). what caliph Uthman did is to collect Quran in other slangs (and burn them) to be replaced with the original Quraisy slang. this is what i know (sunni muslim).

wait a minute! i'm muslim and to my knowledge the compiling of Quran started in the time of Caliph Abu Bakr (r.a), the first caliph (he was the first among men to embraced Islam). after Muhammad (pbuh) died, some of the believers began to deviate and this causes the Ridda War in which many of the Quran memorizers joined in and perished in the battle. therefore the future caliph Omar (r.a) suggested to Caliph Abu Bakr (r.a) to start compiling Quran.

Indeed a very mysterious book. You have to read it and interpret it yourself. You will find information about evolution to big bang. Some verses starts with mysterious letters that no body knows what they mean. It is just telling you that it is highly coded and you have to decode it. evolution: man was made of clay and life came out of water. Clay can be decoded to simple organic matter and life out of water is summart of evolution.

Not all has been discovered in egypt and they are still trying to break the language on some levels. What i dont like now is that women have to cover their faces hands and entire bodies when the sun has benefits, the wind has benefits, the rain has benefits. How come women are encouraged to stay in their homes instead of working or seeking education? I have come to know some things from friends and family. and I have read many hadith and most of the Quran i just cant get the program together. so it means it isnt for me.

It isnt sumerian History! It is in fact stories foretold in the bible that go back to egypt not sumerian text, sumerian text is a relative to Egyptian text. not really.. egyptians took parts of their religion from sumeran religion. And they had more than one god (polytheism). In the first versions of the bible that could be found, there are some parts that show that even in the bible more than one god could have existed, but that was changed later.
and none of those works can be taken literally. it's fiction. from early sumerian writings to the current religous books. all the same. all fiction. no god.

Well I am Jewish, in the first book, until El Shadai in Exodus, the term used is Elohim which is Gods not God. The reason is that the early Israelites like all people appealed to various Gods and spirits, even adopting other people's God. In fact the God we, Jews and Christians, are told is the only true God, YHWH, was borrowed from the Canaanites. The stories are similar because most early civilizations lived close to rivers and people moved freely so the flood stories were inevitable and as people mixed, they exchanged the same ignorant ideas.
