yes. the article said that after the camerman stopped filming, the kids and the cameraman got up past the rising water, and were able to get away from the wave. but if they would have stayed, they most likely would have became victims of the wave

I'm from California.. and I have experienced a multitude of Earthquakes, but I've lived in Malaysia for a couple years and had been through 3 or 4, only one of which was significant enough to shake the apartments.

More specifically I lived on Penang Island, south on the coast. I hadn't heard that these tsunamis hit the island until tonight.. and this footage is terrifying, I hope my old friends are alright.
