Rubin Carter was NEVER found innocent in a court of law.

He was found guily ,not once, but twice by a competent jury of his peers. BTW, The second jury that found him guilty included two African Americans. Guilt of murder requires a unanimous verdict by the jury.

Among many other things,Carter was identified just as he was leaving the bar, in which he and his cohort John Artis had just murdered three innocent people. They were both carrying weapons. Carters face and name were well known to all in Patterson. The street was well lite and the man was face to face with Carter. He then turned and wisely ran for his life. Shed no tears for Carter, but rather those innocents he executed.

That movie is so packed with flatout lies, distortions, and half truths, that it would be laughable if not for the seriousness of the story, and the dim bulbs that get thier facts from an f-ing hollywod movie. Brilliant!!

Spot On. How can anyone say he was guilty if they weren't there. The person who was with him was offered an early release from prison if he signed a statement saying that he and Rubin were guilty. He said he wouldn't sign because he didn't do it and done years more.
