Like alot of MMA commentators have been saying, they need a 235lb weightclass. Then you could even add another 10lbs to make HW's 275. But they couldn't pull this off now, not enough bigger guys in MMA yet.
randy couture is actually around 6'1 barely coz i remember his fight against a guy whos 5'11 and they were nearly identical. same for fedor (more like 5'11) and a few others. they tend to get thing wrong above or below by about an inch or so.
MMA is awesome but wrestling ruins it. When I see a wrestler smother his opponent and grind out a decision, I feel like Im being cheated of my money the same way seeing a Boxer run around the ring avoiding a fight. Sure in the end there is a winner but it definitely feels like nothing was accomplished other than a grappling match which isn't a fight like a Muay Thai or Boxing match. Yellow cards like in the pride days will stop all that BS but Dana likes shitty wrestling matches I guess.

@ChicagoProdigy I will try to explain this 1 more time. boxing/stand up only vs BJJ/grappling only. forget about who the boxer is or who the ground guy is. it's a fight between 2 styles. the boxer can't use any ground skills. the grappler can't punch or kick. bottom line is the stand up guy can't stop the takedown. it's been proven time and time again. heck even other wrestlers can't stop takedown so someone who can only rely on punching won't for sure.
@ChicagoProdigy When i used to train in MMA we used to give one guy a pair of gloves and he was allowed to unload on you if he can hit you. the other guys job was to take him down without getting ko'd. i never seen anyone even get hit hard doing this excercise. a friend of mine who is in to kung fu thought he could hit me and a friend so we gave him a shot and he got taken down 7 times in a row without landing one shot. he had excuses after but they all do
@ClearwaterMMA you bjj guys are gonna get kids killed and maimed on the street when they think its a good idea to grapple with a complete stranger in street clothes. God knows who else may run up on them. MMA fighting is only good in a cage with little clothes and the knowledge that the other guy wont gouge your eye or bite you or whatever when you get him on the ground. I can box in a 3 piece suit covered by a trenchcoat in 6 inches of snow. Its a good sport, but no too safe outside the cage

MMA is awesome but wrestling ruins it. When I see a wrestler smother his opponent and grind out a decision, I feel like Im being cheated of my money the same way seeing a Boxer run around the ring avoiding a fight. Sure in the end there is a winner but it definitely feels like nothing was accomplished other than a grappling match which isn't a fight like a Muay Thai or Boxing match. Yellow cards like in the pride days will stop all that BS but Dana likes shitty wrestling matches I guess.

@ChicagoProdigy I will try to explain this 1 more time. boxing/stand up only vs BJJ/grappling only. forget about who the boxer is or who the ground guy is. it's a fight between 2 styles. the boxer can't use any ground skills. the grappler can't punch or kick. bottom line is the stand up guy can't stop the takedown. it's been proven time and time again. heck even other wrestlers can't stop takedown so someone who can only rely on punching won't for sure.

@ChicagoProdigy When i used to train in MMA we used to give one guy a pair of gloves and he was allowed to unload on you if he can hit you. the other guys job was to take him down without getting ko'd. i never seen anyone even get hit hard doing this excercise. a friend of mine who is in to kung fu thought he could hit me and a friend so we gave him a shot and he got taken down 7 times in a row without landing one shot. he had excuses after but they all do

God knows who else may run up on them. MMA fighting is only good in a cage with little clothes and the knowledge that the other guy wont gouge your eye or bite you or whatever when you get him on the ground. I can box in a 3 piece suit covered by a trenchcoat in 6 inches of snow. Its a good sport, but no too safe outside the cage

This is to those to guys lying about doing mma and boxing carpenterqwest and mikespikeforlife I can tell they are lying any real mma gym you will train boxing wrestling jui jitsu muay thai and cardio and any high school wrestler will tell you training for grappling is way more exhausting than footwork and punching and I am sure you have not trained mma long enough because if you were a boxer first mma training must have made you tap out I really train mma at unit 2 fitness in atl u 2 r lying
