  • also about creatine, this is something i read about side effects. Among serious side effects creatine causes kidney and gastrointestinal disorders. Users have also reported increased anxiety, acne, male breast formation (Gynecomastia), and a reduction in penis size and hair loss. Gastrointestinal complications have been commonly reported among users of creatine supplements.

  • for the whey protein, you said it has 82 servings, i went to the gnc site and the only one that is close to 29 bucks is for 22 bucks before shipping and handling, but is only 2 lbs of product, so how many pounds is that in the one you have?? thanks in advance.

  • any1 looking to bulk up without supplements eat tuna as a snack between all meals and after work out . 25 grams per can and like o.5 grams fat per can, full of omega 3 ans potassium. stay away from red meat most of the time eat only chicken, turkey or fish for main meals. You dont need supplements. Whey protien and such have an abosbtion rating of like 55% so keep that in mind. So half the cash you pay for it is wasted. wholefoods like tuna have a 80-95% absobtion rate. just saying is all :P

  • 1 gram of arginine isn't enough to do shit. and L-arginine has not been shown to increase vascularity (no2) you should be taking arginine-akg.

  • @ungaboo you could google it to double check but from what I heard ak is better absorption and actually converts to NO in the blood. Where L-arginine doesn't. Where did you get it?

  • takes the water out of ur organs and puts the water into ur muscles so u can work out longer and do more reps. if u dont drink enough water to replace that lost water ull get kidney stones.

    there is no age requirement

  • overall nice vid....as far a the whey protein they are better brands then the generic GNC brand Optimum Nutrion 100 % is better...and as far as the creatine...your not only taking one serving a day the amount creatine you take depends on many variables...do your research

    i know you use weights, i know what rep ranges to use to build muscle. i've been in the industry a while... i am just saying its not an ideal strength or mass workout. doing excersises with little rest trains your for more endurance and is ideal for cutting fat caus it gets the HR up, lifting for strenght suffers caus your physically taxed.nuff said

  • How to bring it video? lol? First, you've never done the program so your opinion is pretty worthless. I've done 2 rounds of P90X. This program isn't for getting bodybuilding mass, no. And the only way to get that kind of mass anyway is to devote a huge amount of your life to it. With this program, you can put on mass if you so desire -- just depends on how many reps you do on resistance days.

  • yeah but even the resistance days are set up as a cardio workout. (i've watched through the dvd's) yeah your lifting weight but its not the ideal training for muscle mass

  • Eh, no. There isn't much rest in between exercises, but that is a good thing.

    They even specifically state if you want mass to use enough weight that you can only do 6-8 reps. More reps if you aren't looking to bulk. This is the same principle with any kind of lifting.

  • Also, don't waste your money on supplements!!! Just take multivitamins. I cut my vitamin in half, and take half in the morning and half in the evening. That's all you need. Don't take creatine, NO Xplode, or any of those vascularity bullshit. It doesn't work. I've spent so much money on that stuff.

  • actually there is endless research that proves creatine works...and a lot of people take pre-workout stuff so they can focus for a workout...but its more for weights then p90 which is more cordio ish. creatine helped me really dial in my heavy workouts. u shouldnt just slam this stuff...u should tell people that it can help, BUT not necessary and results vary

    You obviously have never done P90X. It includes 3 strength (resistance) days a week. The other 3 days are cardio focused.

  • Fuck this DIET ! Sorry no offense, but my diet is way simpler and it works. I pretty much eat a bowl of kashi cereal with milk for breakfast, a cup of green tea in the morning, then for lunch i eat a lean cusine combined with some turkey and whole wheat tortillas, later i snack a kashi cereal bar with a glass of milk, and for dinner i eat about 5-600 calories of whatever is on the fridge. Pretty much just try to eat healthy, like healthy fats and whole grain. Also do cardio and weight lifting.

  • First i would like to say thanks for the great vids and want to congratulate you on your successful results. A couple of things

    in this vid that i thought you can improve on is number one its better to get orgainic chicken and prepare your own marinade. The perdue is def. second best and faster but they still put garbage in there to perserve it. Second the after workout drink should contain some carbs and also SUGER. you need some "fast carbs"to refuel your glycogen storages.

  • can you give a specific order on how and when you took your supplements each day, and if you would recommend it for a 16 year old

  • You should look into a Calcium/Magnesium/D vitamin. IT doesn't sound like you are getting enough from the food you and will help your bone structure in the long run. These workouts will catch up to you eventually.

    Other then that, seems like you cut out pretty much everything bad except Sodium. Your diet is loaded with Sodium.

    I would also suggest looking into an all-natural Multi-vitamin. Most typical brands and full of synthetic crap.

  • Great job...my suggestions: ditch the flax seed oil for fish oil.....flax is all arachidonic acid which only a small percentage is converted to DHA and EPA, which is what you really want.

    Also ditch the CLA...the evidence is weak for fat loss and they are documented adverse effects such as increased cardiovascular disease and inflammation

  • @chicano1904 the protein is safe but the creotine is know to have long term effects so i just stick to the protein suppliments and if you are trying to bulk up without the fat i suggest you use EAS which is a protein that has very little fat in it so you can gain muscle without gaining fat

    I couldn't see myself doing the bland diet for more than a week or two lol

  • A suggestion for everyone for a great snack is to take a whole wheat tortilla, spread some peanut butter on the whole thing then take a whole banana and wrap the banana in the tortilla, it tastes awesome and you can make it in under a minute.

  • For anything concerning fat. Divide the total calories, from the calories from fat. And you would want it to be 10% or less. (i.e lets say the total cal. is 120, and the cal. from fat is 12. the percentage of fat in the products is 10%.) There are many videos on ho to read teh labels of food. It not really that hard, once youve learned.

  • Did you track your weight week x week through the first 90 days? Just wondering where you started and what the progression is like. I'm finishing up week 2, I actually gained a pound but I can see everything starting to tighten in my abs/midsection. I think I'll give your supplement regime a try. I'm eating the meal plan and it is a LOT of food man. Your meals seems more 'normal'. I work out in the AM though, so well see I guess. Thanks for the vids, well done!

    Have you tried Butter buds for flavoring?  I like it alot.

    I havent done p 90x, but had great success with Body for Life.

    Basic rules:

    4-6 meals a day...1 part carb,, 1 part protien

    Lots of water

    aerobic alternated with weights 6 days a week

  • yes, you can still get diabetes and a lot of other diseases from eating poorly. maybe you won't have the weight stressing on your heart but you can still have cholesterol in your arteries. definitley watch what you eat.

  • I've been working out for about 6 months, every 2 days on average. I also take GNC products, and I have got good results, but not great. My weakness is my diet. I eat a bad meal two or three times a week. I am about to start p90x, I am hopeful for results, but I was wondering if you ever go off the diet for a night or two and if so how often?

  • I am not Matt, but if you read the abs diet book from the editor and cheif of Men's Health Magazine it provides the best diet anywhere. The author, David Zinczenko hates that it is even a diet because they have been given a bad rap over the years. He also encourages you to take one day off of the diet every week and eat whatever you want for one meal. So pizza and beer are in atleast once a week, if you must shy from the diet at all. Definately look into the book, you won't regret it.

  • Great video at least shows the average working guy can do this. The only thing I dont feel comfortable with is taking those Supplements especially the Fat Reducing one. Could you not to the P90X without it?

  • im taking the gold standard optinum (24 gram of protein) and wen im doen working out i use da other 1 call 28 grams protein isolate. is dat good to kinda mix ur protein drink? cuz i think u will need more protein after a work out. reply if can.

  • CE2 is a great creatine supplement because you don't have to cycle off and it has a reduced water retention effect

  • I eat tuna and flax seeds for the oil. I might try those vitamins though... I am on the p90x and I have the love handles and about 17.5% body fat (guy), so I might try that. Thanks for the tips. My diet is very close to what you are eating... so that is a relief. Oh, and I love GNC stuff. It does what it says it will and when you first open the conatiner, the bottle is ACTUALLY FILLED TO THE TOP.

  • hey man, just to let you know, im about to start my second cycle, hybrid p90x/p90x+ and i got the same whey protein, and also gnc tonalin cla (i hope it does the same as the stuff you got) and i like i said i got the same pro performance whey (chocolate with 81 servings) and the same creatine aswell. (200 servings) one question. how much protein does your whey vanilla give you? mine is gving me only 17 grams. i wanted to check with you.

  • Get creatine that specifically states that it does not cause water retension. Otherwise, yes, most creatine products cause water rentension or bloating.

  • hey man. what exactly do you need for the p90x workout. like i know pull up bar and a good set of dumbells. but other than that i dont know of anything. also, in football in high school i learned creatine was bad....like that it made you retain water. and after a year or so of use your muscle turns to fat bc your body adapts to the creatine.....just wondering your take on it? thanks man. your an inspiration!

  • i drink my 100% whey with water get at me i dont need MILK. even though i have soy occasionally. i eat usually for breakfast either oatmeal or a mushroom and egg omelet.. granola bar for snak. then for lunch usually a small sandwhich on rye witha piece of fruit(apple etc.) then once im home from school maybe some peanuts.. then dinner a piece of fish with wild rice or grilled chicken.. im in highshcool so its hard to sneak a snack... god dam rules. but yea im liking the workout. week 2 now

  • I bought mine from GNC so im not sure if they are in Canada. You can basically get all the supplements from a decent vitamin shop.

  • Hey with your diet...did you find yourself waking up durning the night wanting to eat? If you what do you do for those nights?

  • Not really because i made sure i was full around 9 pm so i didnt go hungry. Try drinking a protein shake with fat free milk about an hour before you go to bed.

  • It's really best to eat your last meal of the day 3 hours or so before bed. Your body will burn fat while you sleep very effeciently if you have empty stomach.

  • i dont use the p90x recovery drink..i make my protien shake with skim milk and add some chocolate milk syrup in it(look up chocolate milk recovery drink) it works great..i take the creatine post workout with a little water

  • the whey with chocolate mike syrup is my recovery..see the reply above...whey also is for muscle building...l-arginine is a great muscle mass builder for men as is creatine
