i really really like how you put the two bigger sticks in the ground to make a support for the smaller twigs. never seen it before, but it's a great idea! i will use this technique
I notice you have the Pathfinder knife (01 tool steel, etc.). It looks like a tough knife, solid like the Spear Point, I have, by BHK. I notice it has a Scandi grind, and I am wondering if it can botn and chop worth a damn? Thanks, and BTW I'm ordering few tins of that mini inferno.
@offgridmontana It chops great, especially with a lanyard. It's about the perfect size, not too big and not too small. The BHK bushcrafter is also a incredible tool.
I've seen other reviews on the Mini inferno and the reason I sub. to you and like your vid. is because you live in some of the wettest conditions in the US. If a product can stand up in Oregon than it can stand up to just about anything. I just ordered 4 from Dave. Thanks again Mike!
Good video as always Mike, I have some that I got from Roger too. I wasn't sure how it was meant to be used until he did a video on it so I was a little hesitant to do a video on it until I knew for sure. Didn't want to give him an unfair review if I was using it wrong, which come to find out I was. Thanks!
The insulation works great as fire starter, using many other combos like misch, magnesium, wax, petroleum jelly, alcohol, et al. Great stuff! Always look forward to your vids and you seem to have a lot of coats!
@mostcanwait That's just the german fleck camo gore-tes jacket that Sportsman's guide sells for $30. I like it because it is just a shell, i.e. no liner so I can layer whatever I need under it.
Mike : it was great to see you out having fun in Oregon's liqid sunshine... we were also out having a fire.super video and nice little fire, looks like the weather is getting better for us this week.
Thanks for the review Mike! Glad to hear/see your happy with it. To think it all started from one overnight trip i did in the rain.. spent hours trying to get a fire going after trying everything the area had to offer, i finally got a fire.. went home and came up with this product!
@medicjimr I think it would work well with the bushbuddy stove, you could cut the disks into 1/4's to start the stove. They are small and lightweight.
Looks like it works quite well. BTW- Nice fire making demo for wet conditions. A lot of people would not think to set a couple prop sticks to hold air space. Good job bro.
