Macduff should cut off his head, like his character does in the final scene of Shakespeare's Macbeth.....other than that, this was an awesome portrayal of the final scene between Macbeth and Macduff....a just action for such a cruel, murderous King. Bravo!
Such an undderatted, great little film. It sorta felt like watching a crime documentary with the shaky camerawork and whatnot. Deserves a stronger cult following at the very least.
wow Sam wearing a kilt? *_* I love men with kilt lol but I thought they would make a "totally australian" macbeth. But I'm not complaining about the kilt, not at all lol
i liked the idea of the movie, very interesting... but was it a good movie, no, it was not... Sam Worthington did a really good job though, and act 5 looks beast no matter how bad a Macbeth film is
Oh man they cut out the part with the big truck smashing through the gate. "Let our trumpets speak, give them all breathe, those clamorous harbingers of blood and death."
I loved this movie. Better than any modern day retelling of Shakespeare's work that I have seen. I know a lot of people ripped the film apart, but I thought it was stellar. I do wish it could have been longer though. Maybe it would have appeased those who felt that vital scenes were left out.
wow, that's pretty great, i mean, you can't argue that the writing's great, but all in all it's a cool thing to do, even if the writers didn't really write anything themselves, haha
I just bought this movie, and I really enjoyed it. I liked the look of the film, loved the music especially the song A Man of Fortune by the Devastations. Sam as always was great. :)
good mix of action and poetic phrases
also not a bad movie....

Top marks for trying to give Shakespere a modern twist. But unfortunately Australian accent and Shakespere do not mix well at all.

I fucking hated the choppy slow motion during the final shoot-out. That ruined it for me.

Physically Macbeth IS OKAY BUT Mentality he's not.

MacDuff tells MacBeth that he was born not in a natural birth but by C-Section, thus he was not born by way of woman but by way of man, a doctor.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
Sorry, the Polanski version is the only real version really worth watching, if you want realism and accuracy to the story.
Sorry, Sam Worthington is no Jon Finch.

does it have the famous:
"Yet I will try the last. Before my body
Ithrow my warlike shield. Lay on, MacDuff
And damn'd be him that first cries, 'Hold, enough!'"
my FAVE macbeth scene and it seems to be cut here. ={[

so malcolm never claims the kingdom in this one?
McOath 3 years ago
If I can remember, correctly, he does. Or atleast it is assumed as he comes up to see Macbeth lying on his bed, dead.
I havent watched it for over a year now, I'm trying to find a good place to purchase it.
