I really must say, that you are the one that I was learning stone sharpening from, you are real good teacher and a master of sharpening. Keep up the good work Wako! :) Greetings from Poland
@imfreeasabird Wakku not only knows how to skin a deer, the man is a TRAINED SURGEON. The deer hunting done on Japan's North Island is as much Varmint hunting/animal control as it is beg game hunting. He only takes part of the animal because first of all most of his hunts are day hunts. He kills about 60 deer per season There are simply NOT enough hunters to keep the deer in check Your comments is as dumb as expecting a coyote hunter in the US to skin every many coyote he shoots. You need to STFU
It's a great video! But I'm sure most of us long term subscribers would like to see you do a video on the number 1 deer dressing knife! Please do this for us :) what's the best knife why you think so etc etc! What do you think?
@ryanrrx I will have a couple of new knives from now. So after the season is over I will make a thorough video on my hunting knife collection. The season will continue until the end of March. Thanks.
@virtuovice oh thats great, im glad you have more knives to test! we are interested to see what is the best knife of all time for you, we want to see the best knife from all the years! we want to see number 1 hunting knives you have had please :)
@imfreeasabird I've been watching Wako for years, and while I personally would do everything I could to keep from wasting any part of an animal I killed, I also do everything I can to treat people with respect. It's clear from your comment that you do not.
The fact that you say he is not a hunter does not make it so. It only proves that you are someone who feels compelled to judge others.
Is it just me or does he kill a deer every week and not take half of the meat? I'm all for hunting, but i don't understand this so if someone could please explain.
Wako you earned that doe in that snow storm. I think I would have stayed in with a hot cup of coffee. Great job on the AFSK. I have an Ontario Spec Plus version that you have we wanting to mod now
The Ontario knife was said to be built as a can opener for aluminium airplane emergencies. So I leave on the caoting on mine, the strong blade and special sawback as is. Wish I would be allowed to take it on planes though!
Im Wakos fan however every sane person must see this as wasting. Ive read from Wako about the deer situation in Hokaido many times, still this is wasting meat, too bad they cant sell it to restaurants. Despite what happens to the deer after it gets shot, Wako is a skilled hunter without a doubt.
To the person who posted the "Please try to understand" Mind your own damm business. If you don't ike the videos don't watch them. But keep your lectures to yourself. You sound like President Obama lecturing us for his stupidity. Personally your coments are offensive and out line.
To Viutvoice keep the videso coming they are a great source of information.
@imfreeasabird Please try to understand before judging. Share something of your own to the community before shooting down others contribution. Who the F**K are you to assume that you are a true hunter or that you have the only true way to skin an animal. We are here to learn from each other. And otherwise I would appreciate you stay on your camping eating you processed meat.
@snohpla986 I get 3 deer in a week. And our family eat 1 deer in a week. 2 deer go to my friends or my employees. We eat venison dish 2 or 3 times for dinner in a week. Thanks.
@imfreeasabird you should not judge a persons actions unless you trully know the conditions. in that island the population of deer is amazingly large and like steveo6891 said, it is his way, if you have another, then...great go ahead and do your stuff but you should not put down someone saying that he is not a hunter because he does not behaves as we expect.
@imfreeasabird he is a true hunter! This is the japanese way . He tried to post a video of fully harvesting a deer and youtube penalized him for it! He is not a poacher he had to wait many years to be able to hunt deer under japanese regulations!
I also wanted to add that I had a Air Force survival knife when I was a boy scout and while doing some light hammering, to drive my plastic tent stake into the ground, I was using the pummel of the knife - as is often done - and it broke right off. I think the rat tail is too thin and because of the threads cut into it, those grooves make it less able to handle stress and it breaks. If I need a knife in a survivial situation, I would want something else than the Air Force version. IMHO
now this is a knife review!

I think I would have hit that knife with a belt sander or even a grinder before I messed up my stone like that. Plus, 5 hours...wow.
Looks good now though.

More winers than unusual posting comments to this video. Wonder if the lure of military knives brought out the condescenders.

@myboohai I wear a Casio PRW-2000A. Its display doesn't work under -10 Celsius. Then I keep it in the sleeve and it works well. Thanks.

I am not familiar with Japan. In America with think of Japan as highly populated. Are you on the northern islands? Thank you.
jambiyaSlaughter 2 months ago
@jambiyaSlaughter I live on the northern island Hokkaido. At the countryside on this island there live few people and lots of deer. Thanks.
