  • What's his setup?

  • @TheIzzysteve Guardala laser trim Brecker model and La Voz med reed.

  • The palm key fingering he's using for the A# is generally the most stable option intonation-wise.

  • Thanks man! Great playing!

  • That is a wrong position to Bb (for sax), you can do it with one finger...

  • "Wrong" ? Not if it works for you.

I assume you are referring to the bis Bb.

The "better" fingering is usually determined by the notes preceding/following plus tempo. In this case the context was playing 1-5 on a F# Major scale-fast. Side Bb (A#) is "better"- the next note is B natural going up and B to A# coming down. In my opinion, the side Bb (A#) fingering facilitates this best. However in this situation, if bis works for you-great! In the end it's the musical performance that matters most.

  • Yes, you are right...it is correct, I use the position of this video with cromatism between A, Bb, and B, or fast phrases, Good bye!

  • Joey plays a late model Selmer MK VI

    200XXX serial number

  • could you possibly tell me the name of the song at the end of the video?

  • @Keytap15

The song is entitled "(Is There) No Escape? It is a original song of mine that can be heard on the CD "More 'n Four" (The Joey Berkley Quartet). It 's a lot of fun to play live-the band really stretches out on it.

    Thanks for asking,

    Joey Berkley

  • thanks. I've been listening to the CD. (found it on itunes). It's a great album that I really enjoyed. You have the sound that I've been trying to get on tenor.

  • What kind of sax?
