Funniest moment of The Jungle I've ever heard. Glad he won the coveted Clones Choice award by a landslide. He would have won for best jungle moment if they'd have put him in the category. I am Soooo looking forward to his call for the upcoming Hackoff, although he can't possibly come close to this epic moment in time.
I heard the call live as well and have never laughed so hard. I almost had to pull over because I couldn't see through the tears that were streaming down my face. It's now 11:34 PM on a Wednesday in June and this still makes me laugh uncontrollably to the point of tears. My wife doesn't find this the least bit funny and thinks I have lost my mind.
Great audio dude. this sounds way better than the direct digital signal which always sounds high pitched and tinny. I guess its your Bose speakers. sounds great.
The Jungle was and always will be about the CLONES. Somehow, Rome has lost sight of that. Ever since KB took over, it's like it's been a mission of his to eliminate the caller. Bad move, Jim. I don't like that call. Not a very good call.
I've called and made it on air twice, that is exactly how I felt both times. Saying that, that is the funniest flame out in the history of the Jim Rome Show!
I remember hearing this the first time. I laughed sooo hard!!!! I love Rome's comments about it. And Matt didnt call in forever and everyone thought he died or something... Turns out he started hypervenalting and hung up! Poor kid, dont think hes gonna call back again.
The Stache doesn't get enough credit for cutting up the GLOBAL WARMINGGGGGGGG so fast, and then laying it perfectly on Rome at 1:55. That is hilarious. So good.
I've been a Jim Rome Fan since 1995 Anyways lately i've been wondering about the music he plays especially when going on break around the 15 minute mark of every hour Anyone have an idea about that song Let me know Thankks
@catothewiser Wow - another neanderthal racist dipshit. Ever notice how many on YouTube are are neanderthal racist dipshits? Makes one wonder... wonder why these idiots' parents didn't use contraception. We have enough shitheads in this world.
Matt's just fine. The kid's going to be alright. lol That's as good as it gets. I've been a long time Jungle listener and not once have I ever called the show and I'm sure I'd sound just like that or worse in front of millions of listeners the day of the Hack-Off. Matt, you have nothing to be ashamed of my man.
Possibly THE single funniest phone call I've ever heard on the radio. And I'm in my 60's. Just classic! I heard it live but thanks for uploading as it was good to hear it again...and again...and again...
@adsvx Rome felt the same way ... he reloaded that call right back up for an instant audio replay! still making me laugh and i'm thankful people are posting comments because it forces me back to the audio to reply. Instant classic! thanks again for taking the time.
I guess the food consumption by Kirsty and Val might contribute to Global Warming. How many flatulating cows have to be slaughtered, just so that those two can have enough beef fajitas for lunch? I guess all that flatulence would contribute to Global Warming.
But listen closely - does he says "Global Warming" or "Global Worming?" Maybe he thinks Val and Kirsty need to be de-wormed. Take them down to the vet to have them de-wormed. Or warmed. I can't tell. I am still laughing.
I missed the Hack Off because with my work schedule, I can only hear the first hour of the show. So needless to say, when he announced it was starting the second hour, I was hugely disappointed. But Rome's take on the call today in the first hour made it so I couldn't eat my lunch because I couldn't stop laughing. "Global warming" had me in tears. I am going to listen to this again. And again.
When Jim played this call earlier today he played another call where someone flamed out but before the hammer dropped he yelled, "REACTION". Who was that?
@droman30 Search for "Kent in Austin" it is during that call... A dude called Dennis in Oklahoma, I think... Calls to pile on Kent but flames out himself... One of the funniest calls ever!
I don't think he planned this or scripted it for the sake of making it into a soundbite. This is the hack-off we're talking about. These losers... I mean "hacks", think they're worthy of being in the Smack-Off. They think they're better than they really are. I think this guy knew what he wanted to talk about, had a take, made a crack about the linebacker and his nerves got to him and comepletely collapsed. The "Reaction!" guy seems more of a staged call if anything.
Give us an A or give us an F clones. This... is what the Hack-Off is all about. Nobody's going to remember the first caller in this years hack-off because it was boring. Nobody remembers Jolene's call because it was a disappointment. This call will forever be immortalized in The Jungle
@drdisque For missing a moment like this 1 you'll be kicking yourself 'til November. I work nights & I usually can't get up to listen to the show from beginning to end. But I was fortunate enough to catch this jewel. It's priceless.
@killaroc Came off as genuine to me. That would be some phenomenal acting if not. You can't fake the tone in the voice without some serious Oscar hardware..
LMFAO!!! Jim Rome had me f****n' cyin' when he was clownin' him, I mean he couldn't even control his laughter, which makes the moment even funnier. Matt in Cleveland isn't Tarzan, he's not even Cheetah, he's definitely Jane, he deserved to be clowned, he s**t his pants in the freakin' Hack Off, not the Smack Off, why, the calls are supposed to be bad, for God's sake. This will forever be a timeless moment for The Jim Rome Show, Matt in Cleveland became a legend of infamy, too damn funny, smh...
It seems like he had a note card with prompts: [be sure to crack on] Kirstie Alley and Val Kilmer [FAT!], and [make some joke about] global warming, then he just choked on air. It was funny, considering he rambled plenty with his "Tarzan" call.
@ageofpinguino I know one time were he cracked up a little more then this. when he played old smack off calls, and fooled the jungle. some one sent him a e mail saying, "hey dude why don't you open up a news paper and update your smack." Rome lost it then and later we find, he played a joke on the clones.
I just want to know where he was going with the Kristie Alley, Val Kilmer, Global Warming line... No idea what they have in common. Rome should've let him keep going, but he just put him out of his misery.
@bluerap04 - RIGHT??? Rome's usually cool and maybe a little laugh here and there. But Jim just flat out lost it... Jim had me losing it- couldn't stop laughing!
I've been a Jungle listener since the early 90's- missed the whole "Patty In Modesto" meltdown, no matter- this has to trump that event!
I was crying I was laughing so hard when this came on the show...put Matt in the smack off Holy-Freaking-Crap! Funniest thing I've heard in a long time
For real! Listen, i was telling my brother about this call and how funny it was ... While I had him on the phone I found your link and was so stoked, shared it with him right away - we laughed and laughed and laughed. Your right though, Jim laughing made it even funnier!
@LeCompanyProductions i believe Matt may have just saved this freakshow for another year! if he didn't call, there definitely wouldn't have been a 3rd Annual! Classic!
@LeCompanyProductions I split the cost of Insider with a friend, and he called me when Rome went to break with a WTF. Apparently, he'd just gotten out of class when Matt called.
Also, I relistened to the Hack-Off while having dinner, and nearly choked to death while laughing at this call. Food + global warming = BAD combo.
@LeCompanyProductions haha ... i'm so glad i had tape running on this! this is a keeper! an instant jungle classic that will be rearing its ugly head forever. jim's laugh was killin' me! thanks for taking the time to comment. have the remaining hack-offs uploading as we speak (just in case you missed them). thanks again

Vic calling as Flameion thinks this call was fake.
He was trying to get run. The first joke was funny but the "Kristy alley, val kilmer, global warming" was an attempt to add himself as a soundbite.
He fooled Rome though.
