i have met coach wooden, when you are with him you know that you are with a legend, he is more then a coach. some can focus on the negative accusations a few have, which says so much about who you are.

Goodness gracious sakes alive! We're talking about The Wizard of Westwood! John Wooden is, as Keith Erickson states, a "national treasure". God bless Coach Wooden!

Wooden was never asked to coach an Olympic team because the committees knew how he won all of those ncaa championships and it wasn't with Xs and Os. Wooden was a 53-year-old nobody before he sold out the UCLA basketball program to the notorious booster Sam Gilbert who then began buying up all of the greatest talent in the country. There should be a photo of Sam Gilbert permantly affixed at the top of Wooden's "Pyramid of Success". Wooden was a fraud who is somehow always shielded by the media.

Absolutely dead on right!!! Wooden went like 15 seasons with ZERO titles, & suddenly he's "the wizard"? Hell no, people, wake up! He made his deal with the devil in the form of Sam Gilbert. Walton busted them on it himself. Want proof? Check out Dan Wetzel's article "Everyone loves a winner". Then ask Jerry Tarkanian and several other of Wooden's peers. Or look up Gilbert's family members from that time. No respect for UCLA of that time or the joke that was the NCAA. Go Tarheels!

You whiney tar heel fans from cheater hill are all alike. It wasn't UCLA on probation for recruiting violations around 1960. Flat out cheaters and you can't deny it. All they've done is learn how to cover it up better than anyone else. Talk about protected!! How about the journalism school. You rail on unc at cheater hill and you can't get a decent job.
