I like you method of construction and I'm wondering how do you cut the galvanised steel. Do you use an angle grinder? Also would it be possible to use Marine Ply instead of the James Hardie product as I'm modelling OO gauge and the track pins may not go through the Hardie product.

My brass rail does not rust. It's been out there 7-8 years in some spots. It weathers to a black color.

Track is 45mm gauge
(1.75")
Rail is Sunset Valley code 250 brass
Ties are AMS "narrow gauge" plastic ties, cut apart and spaced about 2" centers.
