  • heatbreaking story, book, film. ,music,

i was very touched by all of it. rest in peace lonley wanderer

  • if you feel so then come visit wild place of sikkim.....u guys will see wat is wild....WILD....WILD

  • Thank you for this video I truly am glad I saw the video. Even though it is a bit sad aswell. He is a BRAVE soul.... truly amazing man. thanks again.

  • This one is the most impacting video for me, it has hit me deep into the core. I always wanted to escape into the wild or live alone somewhere but in reality I know I cannot .... I have too many health issues that I would not survive long in the wild.. Plus I have a wonderful son who I love the most in the world. I admire him but I also feel sad for him. I feel for his family especially his parent since I am a mother myself. Truly touching video of him, the best out of all I have seen.

  • The only things thats stops me is that i dont wanna coz pain to my familly like criss did !!!

  • @heyhoOw that is exactly how i freaking feel too

  • NO CELLING BETTER!!!!

  • if you wanna run off to the wild alone like an idiot and be bear food then you have learned nothing from this movie.

  • I know that everyone reaches a point of time in his life when he wants to run away from everything, the bonds, the relationships, the plastic friendships, fake smiles, troubles of the world. This man here did the same. I know it is very tempting, to be a freebird. To be on your own. It is surely liberating.

But let's not forget that a Man is a social being. His happiness and sadness can only be expressed when in company of other Men. We can't live alone. We need love, each other.

    Respect Life.

  • I want too...I"m so hate to society that I want to run into the wilde

  • quit trying to be all philosophical, faggots

  • @rbf0621 i wonder how philosophical he felt when he was dying in that bus... i bet he would have given his left arm for a rescue helicopter and a big mac.

  • I must refrain from watching this movie.. every time I see it I come so close to edge of leaving everything behind and running into the night, on my way into the wild.. one day I may find enough strength within to take that step and take of on my big journey..

  • @DonnieDarkoCRO OK- this guy died in a bus from starvation. Unless you really know how to take down a deer and clean it etc properly- you may be as smart as Einstein- in physics- or even think YOU see a big metal rabbit- but you can run forever- and still slam right into yourself. Running- fixes nothing. I hate this damn movie- it idealizes this guys sick perception of how his situation COULD have been handled w/o his death. HAVE YOU READ THE BOOK??

  • @DonnieDarkoCRO why yes, leave everything behind!!! everything!!! take your journey, step out into the wild plateau, find your inner strength and courage and beat off 3 times before you leave. then hop in a circle 4 times and spit on your hand and slap yourself in the face. then truely become a hippie. you fucking disgusting bastard. hippies smell like shit, therefore I hate hippies. therefore, i hate you, philosophical faggot hippie

  • @DonnieDarkoCRO ONE DAY IS TODAY.TOMOROW TOO LATE

  • @DonnieDarkoCRO Your life is your big journey, every step we take define us, the strength is inside of you, inside of us, change, always and be happy even in hard times.

  • "A man is rich in proportion to the number of things he can afford to let alone" Henry David Thoreau

  • @MayaDanakil ;)

  • I've always believed the points made in this movie, so lucky to have an open mind.

  • song please

  • I got this movie for christmas and i sobbed uncontrolably after the end, he was the niezchian ubermench in the classic sense of the term.

  • I would like to live like he did, be a free man. Freedom is more worth than money, but if you look at it like this, if you have alot of money you can buy freedom. I dont have any of them.

I think that very few of us really knows what freedom is...

Chris McCandless took the chanse to find out what it was

    R.I.P.

  • @probodybuilder89 Yes ! liberty liberty <3

  • Please read various passages in the book and think what you can learn from an amazing but shortened life. Chris's life was more than this movie could depict. His life was more than HIS life, it IS the life of every person on this planet trying to be what we are and not what society WANTS us to be. We WERE hunters n gathers, but we became CONSUMERS.Chris lived is life in such a manner that symbolizes everything that is wholesome and REAL about our own lives. Chris (Alex) M. God Bless, and R.I.P.

  • Every single frame of this movie can be printed out and put up on a wall......

  • remember guys: happiness is only real when shared!

  • tears in Heaven

Eddie Vedder - Society - Surf in Fiji

    ---> watch?v=h4b8-0tyalA

  • this guy's story changed everything

  • I'm nothing but a coward..

  • oh God, how I love this movie.."Happines only real when shared"..and that´s true!!

  • @MsRooni : mine too.

  • I really appreciate that Chris who did that all! It's so amazing how he just was with the nature, all alone.

  • I read the book then watched the motion picture. WOW. Truly Amazing!

  • song and video harmony is excellent..well done

  • Yes, you don`t have to starve and poison yourself to death to enjoy the freedom of the wilderness or even the near to civilizatiuon outdoors. Get yourself a good back pack, do a little research, and then hit the trails that aren`t far from your own home. Camp by yourself. no phone, no music, maybe a book at most. Feel the silence and noises of the forest. Listen to the rain . Find yourself.

  • seriously! Who would not want to just survive in the depths of the soul, although a few weeks away from civilization?because I like that!

  • te quedó genial el video!! pega mucho con la canción ! :)

  • Good job Chris. The more people that don't want to be part of the norm, the better. RIP

  • I almost forgot how much I love this movie. Emile Hirsch in my opinion has done a very good job in this.

  • i did this when my wife left me . i loved the movie , i want to do it again . but this time for a longer time, i did it for 3 years but i got cold feet , im doing it again , thanks for the uploads and its nice to know there is people out there that are not dead inside and see life for what it is , not for what they made us to see,

  • Great movie. It's the life i wished I had led if i had the balls, instead of being so average with a wife (not a very hot one at that) and two kids and being afraid of loneliness. Then again, I guess the moral of the story was that he realises at the end that his lifestyle has been 'lonely'.

  • I think everyone should go on one adventure in their life. Doesn't have to be like this...but life isn't worth living unless you're willing to take chances.

  • Love this movie, but Stained SUCKS BALLS!!!

  • Nice montage. This was a great movie..

  • magic bus actually wasnt very far away from a highway :P

  • i LOVE this movie ! Staind ... good choise ! but Eddie Vedder find the real message of this story i think :)

  • i loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.. very loveeee

  • EPIC MOVIE !!!!!!!

  • Best Movie Ever! This men is a model for me and for the future generation

  • Romper elos,desligar-se daquilo que impede o voar,o ir...Ser eu mesmo,como disse Pessoa,mais animal que a natureza criou...

  • shut up Alexp37 awesome film

  • I'm reading the book right now and i'm desparate to see the film again, all of it this time.

I hate it when people like him die.

  • love that movie

  • This video would be perfect if the image wasn't shaking the whole time...

  • SUPER !!!!!!

  • amazing film amazing story amazing song weldone

  • I did some things similar to what Chris did, and right about his age too. It's the restive spirit of the young kicking about. Not bad to go out there and try a few of these things, but to be foolish as Chris was and get yourself killed over nothing more than bad planning is ridiculous. I'm sure he didn't plan on or want that.

  • @SphinctersForever i agree, but he died happy, well in the film he did, and thats the way i hope it was in real life. and if chris lived, the movie wouldnt of been made and the lessons wouldnt of been told in this way, so he didnt die for nothing. he died doing something he loved.

  • @OriginalBritishMan Well, I guess he didn't die for quite *nothing* but I don't think his contribution, if that's what it should be called, was worth his death. I suspect in his later moments he realized he had screwed up royally, but then since he starved to death, I'm sure his brain functions were quite diminished near the end. Who knows exactly what (if) he was thinking as he laid in the bus, too weak to hardly move. Dumb move, Chris. You should have quit while you were (a little) ahead!

  • @SphinctersForever I strongly disagree. I, and many many thousands others have been touched by this movie in a way they didn't think was possible. That film brought much delight and pleasure to my life and showed me there are truly amazing people worth dying for, even if they're not your relatives. This amazing guy left a HUGE legacy for all of us, he has been a true model for all of us, he showed us the way, so we should respect his death as much as we can, God bless.

  • @Alexp37 Sure, he left a good legacy, but I cannot see what made any of what he did worth dying for in the end. Apparently his death was purely the result of bad planning and ignorance of the area on his part, because he was basically healthy and fit during the vast majority of the period. Tons of interesting people have lived and died doing amazing things, and Chris is no high water mark of virtue or honorable martyrdom. I think people are making him out to be too mythical a figure.

  • @SphinctersForever The fact that we are discussing this guys young life, makes us all part of his journey. His death may have been due to lack of technical skills , but his heart and thirst for something different lives in the heart of us all...Peace:)

  • I think for the most part he wanted to escape the sick society the world has become to find peace and happyness in the wild.

  • THE START MUSIC IS SUPERB

  • musica

  • Oh young ones, it is not to be found there. Your senses will surely be heightened but that is your instinct kicking into survival mode. Yes, every waking moment of your day will center on survival. There are those too, that do not have your best interest at heart, unlike those Chris happened to find. Stay home, get along with your parents, find a creek near your house and for all it's worth, stay in school. A safe place to dream. RIP Chris-

  • A cautionary tale to those who will listen. The wind is a subtle mistress who beckons those with romantic notions and visions of grandeur. As a young man, I fell to these notions. Lockstep with Thoreau and Kerouac, I plunged into the abyss of the road seeking enlightenment. continued...

  • tramp

  • this movie change my life

  • @MsRooni It would probably be more appropriate, and respectful to say: "Chris McCandless' story changed my life"

  • @MsRooni You should read the book is way better.

  • @MsRooni In what way?

  • @MsRooni me too!

  • @MsRooni Mine as well

  • Comment removed

  • There are very few films in this world that really speak to my heart and my soul, but this is one that does. This portrayal of Chris and his insurmountable need for adventure is something that I can definitely relate to.

I too, have that insatiable desire to seek the path less trodden.

You inspire me, Chris. God Bless you man.

  • @ferrybilla-thanks for posting this clip...you hav very deep thoughts...

  • @sjhgm you are absolutely right...

  • This film just gets me. So sad and this video is a fitting tribute

  • Never saw the whole movie i am currently watching this is in school and as well reading the book and this, just this made me cry

  • I Had The Same Ideas That Chris... So My Father Recommend Me To Watch This Movie, After I Watched It I Also Read The "Into The Wild" Book, The Chris`s Life Changed Mine... R.I.P. Supertramp! Peace And Love

  • But he died alone, yearning for his family, realizing he made a big mistake!!!!!!!! we all go through these questions; family can help, be patient, and let your family help you, be by your side through the dark times. NOT A GOOD WAY TO FOLLOW, his family is very sad over losing him. He wrote them off without giving them a chance. HE judged them unworthy of knowing his thoughts, his path & they mourn his loss to this day. And life is about HOW LONG YOU LIVE, how long you can enjoy it.,be in it.

  • I never know about Him Christopher McCandless , but he very nicth guy , and in my life want to do same him so much , he very good way life to Follow

  • this man should be worshipped

  • Into the Wild, 127 Hours and the true stories behind them will change you life. Chris McCandless and Aaron Ralston have changes mine.

  • Good video. RIP McCandless. Awesome movie. Nice acting.

  • I read the book in college...was apprehensive at first, but ended up loving the story. Recommend everyone read it, more than once...

  • I have never respected someone so much for a simple decision, R.I.P Christopher Johnson Mccandless.

  • This is just AMAZING. Every image/scene fits perfectly with the mood of the song and with every single word. This video is very intense, I LOVE IT!!! Thanks for sharing it!

  • Magnificent!

  • chris there was no supernatural, coz if there was it could accompany you in your most loneliest and scariest moment of your life, you lived your life like what you've dream of so that's it...there's no second life at least your happy....sayonara (PAALAM)

  • If life would be this easy.....without dying in the end

  • Hats off to whoever made this video.....the song adds just so much more meaning to the situation.......absolutely perfect video for a fantastic movie.......btw for those of you who didn't know...the song is so far away by Staind!!!!! Amazing

  • great movie...will always loved it.

  • I agree that he misidentified and ate the wrong plant and got sick so his body could not gain nutrients and died that way. What I give Chris no matter how prepared he was for Alaska was at least he tried to follow through with this dream of his. I see so many trapped in their jobs or other slave like situations, at least chris broke away from capitalist society

  • @whereskim89

You only watched the movie, didn't you?

Chris didn't die because he ate poisoned plants - that's been debunked so many times now.

Most likely he died of "Rabbit Starvation". Rabbits, and especially that far north consist of almost no fat, so every time he moved, he burned fat he wouldn't regain. Despite the fact that he regularly caught rabbits and squirrels, he probably consistently lost weight from the time he arrived, to his death.

  • ... <3

  • Nike. Just do it.

  • 3 people cant find freedom thumps up if u agree

  • Alaxander Supertramp!

  • @CALI805HOOLIGAN----I sympathize with him-----being from the crowded northeast and having got to work in the western U.S. from late '91 until late '01 I often get the urge to move----(but can't since my parents are elderly now and may need assistance from me)-------I sure miss the southwestern U.S.-----

  • why does almost nobody recognize genisu persons like chris while they're alive? does the ordinary population has to be so ignorant and not capable of recognizing how special, in a good way, some living persons are?

  • Respect for Chris!!

  • HAPPINESS ONLY REAL WHEN SHARED.

  • how did he die?

  • @maxboya starved to death

  • @maxboya

He mis- identified a plant he ate that was poisonous, that caused, in layman's terms, paralysis of his intestines. He died of dehydration because he couldn't even hold water down, not alone food.

  • @melluvsmusic1 OOOPS! ummmm a .22 and no survival training. That in My Gods -Earth ,Air,Fire,Metal,Stone Mother Earth Will Rip you to pieces if you go foolishly into a territory that is ruled byt her and Animals that BELONG there.I dont celebrate his death , i just feel he was quite naive.

  • @melluvsmusic1 False. If you read the last chapter of the book, you would understand that the plant/seed that he ate was posinous. It was the mold upon the seed that was indeeed posinous. In this poisoned state, his body is unable to gain nutrients, no matter how much he eats.

  • i come from a place where people think im crazy when i say christopher j McCandless is my hero. But i don't care wat they say, they all come are a very big part of this sick society....i'll no matter get rid of everything once b4 i die!!!!

  • me inpacto tanto esta pelicula que cuando veo y oigo el video no puedo dejar de llorar

  • sorry folks the music doesn't correspond to this wonderful movie

  • @chefnaj The lyrics do...yes it does..

  • This is the best movie I have ever seen. I backpack a lot and often dream of doing the same thing Christopher McCandles did but with a different ending. But honestly I'm to afraid to take that first step. Every time I watch this movie I want to fill my pack and take off to a less stressful place filled with nature and all the good things around. Until I do I will keep watching this and live with the memory of this amazing person and his wonderful journey. Take care and see you on the trails.

  • tolles video, tolle musik. ich liebe es!!!!

  • OKAY ANYONE BESIDES ME THINK THAT THIS ACTOR IS A SEXY BEAST! and besides that OMG I LOVE THE BOOK INTO THE WILD! im the only one who REALLY enjoyed it in my class. i think it had soo much depth and really showed how far a man will go to escape/live his dream :)

  • I cried my eyes out. Thanks for making this incredible video.

  • I cried watching this. job well done

  • very-very like this film. Thanks for video. respect from the Ural.

  • This was an amazing video. I beleive that Chris was perhaps searching for himself in life. Searching for some sort of peace and happieness. Isn't that what we all really want out of life is peace and happieness? Well he did something about it, it's just to bad that most people don't.

  • i truly respect chris and he and i are a lot a like i spent 5 years hitchhiking canada and have spent 3 months in the wild aka no mans land ultimate freedom i made some travel videos check em out on my page

  • Hhappiness is not real , only when shared <3

  • thanks for making and uploading, so good MV and very nice song : )

  • great video, great man. this is one of my fav. quotes " I read somewhere... how important it is in life not necessarily to be strong... but to feel strong."

    thanks for the video

  • Thank you to everyone for watching the video so far, hope you all enjoy it! Thank you to the people who commented as well, its clear you all love the film as much as I do.

  • @ferrybillaa , Thanks for not only having a great passion for life & freedom but also for being able to share your vision of Chris's passions as well as a little of your own I bet? "Life is not about how long you live, rather how you live the time you are given" ~ sjhgm1~

  • @sjhgm1 that's a big HELL YEAH!

  • You nailed this one bro, the images, the ideals, the man that is Chris McCandless. Thanks for believing in something that goes against the beliefs of a boring society. Just think, 98% of this world doesn't have a clue what Chris was searching for, let alone what he found, wow, there is hope for the rest of us after all!

  • @sjhgm1 im disappointed to not know or yet understand what he was looking for , i know he gave up alot of money etc and decided to hike all over america..

  • @JoshiBoiLe18 I think Chris did not know either but he knew that what most call normal was not for him. He knew that he felt different, thought different & wanted to live differently than the other 98% of society. Sometimes when we dream, the path is not clear but it is the vision that we follow & what keeps us moving forward!!

  • @sjhgm1 My god, what a good positive comment! I cry when i watch this film, its all about the spirit we all should have that is now missing. life has so much to offer that only a meager few can visualise. I know that Christopher loved his quotes, so heres one i made after climbing Mont Blanc. "Your success is not measured by of other peoples acheivements, sucess is a measure of your own ability taken to its limit."

    Scott Donaldson.

  • @Everestlad Dude, I appreciate the comment. I read this book & it blew me away. The fact that Chris had the guts to turn his back on a society that embraces phonies & punishes those with a vision & dream makes him the real role model for people like us. At least those of us believers here have a hero that fulfilled his dream.

Fly high Chris, we will see you soon enough bro, ~sjhgm1~

  • @sjhgm1 right on

  • @sjhgm1 Hey man I totally agree with what you're saying !

This man is my role model!

And i am going to live like he did(at least sort of).

    Just wanted to say that

And yeah Chris we see you soon enough:D

  • @sjhgm1 Thats so true

  • God, this gives me goosebumps! Stellar video.

  • EXELENTE VIDEO....EXELENTE ADAPTACION DE LAS IMAGENES......FELICIDADES....!!!!!!! SALUDOS.

  • Good Memory's Never Lost .

    Christopher Johnson McCandless R.I.P. (February 12, 1968 - 1992)

    We Love You (Chris) !.

  • Added to favorites...Just keep doing the good job mate...I am working on a video...Will let you know.

  • Wonderful combination of music and clips. It is really quite moving. faved.
