I really dislike these kind of adverts. Unlike the U.S. prescirpition pharmaceutcals cannot be advertised direct to consumer (the zoloft adverts make me particularly unease, I urge you to view them on Youtube). To get around this, the drugs companies, in this case Novartis, launch awareness campaigns. They did it with erectile dysfunction too (I think that was courtesy of Pfizer).

Of course (I forgot to mention) Novartis have a medication for this particular problem.

I had surgery for retinal detachment and now have wavy line distortion exactly like this. Not AMD but its a very disconcerting effect I can tell you.
