  • 0:40 MAHWWAIGE.

  • Poor Edward was the driving force towards keeping the reformed church by eliminating Mary's ability to succeed him.

  • this is a fabulous movie; loved helena and cary. just perfect!

  • I'd be sad but then when I found out I was marrying him I'd be like : )))))

  • *WESTLEY!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • her corset looks like body-armor

  • I can guarantee that the real historical Guildford did not look anywhere near as good as Cary Elwes. Just a hunch about the Royal lines genetics.

  • His hair is so fluffy.

  • Jane looks so sad all the time ):

  • Well, young Jane, I guess this comes from reading the wrong books: Plato is no good for real princes and therefore they should read proper books, especially the ones of Machiavelli. Had she done so she would have known that a prince must be prepared to do (or let do) evil deeds as well, as no one, who wants to act always righteous, could survive among so many wicked men; and therefore she should have killed the ruffian she was married to in her wedding night with little danger as heir apparent.

  • It just struck me - Jane's nanny looks just like Cousin Pearl from the Beverly Hillbillies (the original TV show)...

  • Love Cary Elwes, anyone see Robinhood Men In Tights?

  • Cary Elwes plays the part of a jerk so perfectly!

  • They just dont make them like cary elwes nowadays :(

  • i petty edward sooo much!!!!!!

  • DAMN HES HOT!

  • "... what you wish" - whatever he says there, I immediately thought of Wesley! :D

  • ROFL Cary Elwes' 80s hair is so epic. XD

  • OMG! that smolder.

  • guildford cracks me up

  • 4:44 poor woman he keeps knocking stuff down on her. XD

  • The sermon at the beginning of the clip is very similar to the one that was given at the double wedding (of the 2 eldest Bennet sisters) in the BBC production of Sense and Sensibility

  • @RebelliousOne12 It's not actually a sermon. It's the opening of the wedding ceremony from the Anglican Book of Common Prayer which, since England was at this time Protestant, they would have theoretically been in use. Similarly, since Elizabeth reestablished the Church of England (Anglican) after taking the throne, the Book of Common Prayer would have been in use once more and is still used (with some revisions over the years) today.

  • HORRIBLE COUPLE LOLZ

  • 3:56 noice hair :)

  • @scissorhands007 So right, I adore a man with a poof haha

  • oh man, i love this movie. its hilarious.

  • Okay, I've understood pretty much everything in this movie except what was going on around 7:31. Is he attacking her, trying to kiss her or is he just drunk? I'm confuzzled! Anyone have an opinion? =D

  • SO DRUNK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHA

  • When in doubt, faint. lol

  • how on earth can ANYONE get a boner knowing there's a mob outside his door waiting for him to deflower the bride? Aristocrat freaks...

  • Thank you for loading this, I haven't seen it in so long. I photographed Cary Elwes at Mel Brook's Ceremony. Check them out on my blog, the link is on my channel page.

    Love Cary Elwes = )

  • he said if you wish it- it was kinda close to "as you wish"

  • they've gone off-history for the wedding; i thought it was a triple wedding including Jane's 13 year old sister Katherine

  • he plays a good drunk

  • who were the couple who was making out?

  • @rldaniels95 That's what I was wondering...

  • Her blue dress looks so uncomfortable! Like a stiff column for her arms and chest. :-P

  • They look so miserable at their wedding, haha. His whole demeanor at the reception was hilarious. I'm glad they actually learned to love each other later on.

  • @doda in real life they didnt. She did not make him king for he in fact raped her

  • @doda I reality, it is unlikely that they ever loved each other, due to the fact that when in the Tower Guilford asked to see Jane and she said no. This was the morning before they died.

  • @ImADrWhoAddict I think I read somewhere that she felt seeing him once more before they died would be too painful and would shatter her strong resolve to die with courage. Jane was quite a strong and determine women, but wisely also knew her limits.

  • This is just pathetic. Have you ever seen any two people look so miserable at their wedding reception?!

  • WESLEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @SashalovesErik It's the dread pirate Roberts!!! I am not left handed! lol =) I LOVE the Princess Bride!!!

  • @SashalovesErik my exact thought

  • @SashalovesErik haha he said, "If it is what you wish" which is the same as "As you Wish" from Princess Bride! XD

  • Ugh, poor Jane. I'd hate to wear that at MY wedding. *shudders*

Nollaig Shona, and have a Happy New Year everyone!

  • princess bride!!!!!!!!!!

    he loox so young

  • Hahah. 3:59.

    His hair. His face.

    Priceless.

  • LOL! The hair and face made my whole class crack up when we saw this movie for History.

  • the dancing women are crazy!

  • "If that is what u wish." Oh my gosh! That was like in the princess bride "As you wish" X-)

  • all about "religion"

  • That was funny when she "passed out."

  • that scene at 7:38, OMG!!!!!!!

    HOT, HOT, HOT

so hot the cat won't come into the room.

    LOL

  • u mean cold is more like it!! ide be pissed off too if i had to marry someone i didnt want to marry. Bthat ut the beauty or should i say tragedy is she falls madly in love with him, how grande!!

  • excuse my typos, such a bad typist iam--lol

  • cary elwes and helena bonham-carter are both so amazing in this movie! it's so fun to see them when they were all young and cute but they are still amazing actors.

  • what the heck was all the rolling about at 7:50? it was so random...

  • its all about domination

  • 7:50 was a clear sign of sexual tension

  • lol does anyone else notice at 2:14 when some1 starts singing its a GUY? thats called casterating poor guy

  • There are guy singers like that today and nothing has happened to them, lol. They just train to sing high. They are called counter-tenors.

  • Yes, the guy singing really high probably was a castratro (result of castration) or maybe, just maybe a really high counter-tenor. Castratos were more popular before the nineteenth century, but I don't think you can castrate a guy for art anymore tho.

  • his hair is so poofy!

  • I love all the silly hats :-P

  • Her face at 8:59! Oh my goodness. She looks so uncomfortable.

  • I love Cary Elwes' acting!!!

  • soberly when will that happen

  • Thanks for uploading this as I saw this film on TV and I enjoyed watching this.

  • "Are you sure your son is right for my daughter?" It's a little to late for saying that now pops! Boy her parents sure know how to pick 'em!

  • HAHAH wtf was the rolling about?

  • I think he was trying to prove a point that he had power over her as a dominant male or something?

  • i like the wedding dress jane is wearing soberly yah right

  • it is interesting to note that the white wedding dress became the standard after Victoria wore white for her wedding. It has nothing to do with Virginity, that was an American slant on the subject !!!!!!!

The white wedding dress only became the norm after Victoria did it in 1839. Being the Queen of the worlds biggest Empire has it'd impact. The American Culture stated it as a sign of Virginity after that. Now the norm in our culture.

  • I was waiting for Cary Elwes to say "As you wish" but wrong movie. Every movie Cary is in I always see him as Wesley from the great film "The Princess Bride."

  • i do too that was a good movie

  • i know

  • i love his voice! its so perfect

  • thank you so much for uploading this! tis my first time watching it but i really love it so far!

  • poor jane

  • Omg!!!!! i was going to tipe the same exact comment till i read yours!lol!
