its when you turn the potentiometer up to high resistance i think. mine does it easily.

if you use a 10 k potentiometer it goes into self oscilation pretty easily i think.

Ah yes the singing coil. :-) the resistor is key. I moved to this because I grew tired of the noise of the wheel, and fighting bearings. There are other videos out there on this.  Cheers.

Nice work! Solid state generators are very good. The trick is to get more out than you put in. You need to use capacitors to prove this, or do tests for run time on battery one, then switch, then run down battery two, switch, rundown battery one, etc. If your run times for both batteries stay the same or are longer you are golden!
