    I followed all of the video, but what happens, is when the elevator goes back down to the first floor, it jumps up to the second right as it reaches the first floor.

  • the door does not follow the elevator. What am I doing wrong

  • When my elevator reaches the top it starts going back down again without stopping

  • @Zombiedude101z mine did the same thing, on your path's add an output, "onstop target elevator - stop" and it will work

  • Just a little tip for your video tutorials, showing the object in action in-game, is a good idea imo :)

  • can you make a tutorial about:

    A room that when you step on it the doors close and a wall starts slowly moving towards you and afterwards kills you.

    And then that the walls go back to normal and doors open...

  • Hey, sorry if this is in an outdated video. I haven't been mapping for a long time, noticed the removed the normal func_train... now when I make my elevators, the buttons control them like a train (w increases speed, s decreases). I have it as an output which "onpressed" "elev_01" "setspeed" "74"... but it still controls it like a train? any help please? its the only thing stopping me from releasing this map!.. thanks :)

  • Yeah, but i have another option.

    If this happend to any of you guys you just right klick on the Elevator and the Invisible/nodraw around it and transform it. you fill in the one in the middle to -90

  • Ohmy god this is annoying! Because my elevator is 90 degrees on the wrong direction, you know.

    Ive just made a nice map and the elevator is almost uppside down, great

    Have any ideas?

  • @AAAZ2A Did you make sure to check a box for Fixed Orientation in Flags?

  • @AAAZ2A (Not gonna play smartass, Akita, but i can help, maybe :) )

    So if it doesn't work what Akita says, you just need to Turn it around, in Hammer it'll look silly but ingame it's fixed. So what u need to do is click on your elev (Not in the Camera window) and u just click a couple of times on it untill u see 4 circles next to the corners, then just turn it around!

  • I have done all what you say (Im pretty sure) and when i want my elevator to go down it goes RELLY SLOWLY.. it goes fast up but not down.. I only have 2 paths

  • Make sure that the second path_track doesn't reset the speed, or just change it yourself to something faster.

  • Im using a diffrent method, using blocks to create the elevator and a few other bits and pieces, but will the door you use work with it?

  • The door should still work, as long as you add the correct outputs and parent it to the elevator.

  • I fixed most problems with this, if anyone still has any questions just ask.

  • compile the map so u can see what acually happens

  • Can i get the vmf file???
