That's great that you are pursuing higher education & can find time for hobbies; that can be tough to do! I think Bachmann did make a slight goof; Union Pacific buffs please correct me if I'm wrong, but shouldn't the roofs of the F unit & the caboose be painted Harbor Mist Gray?
@OggOrbisMedia hahaha...wait until you want to buy really decent engines...Atlas are the best along side of KATO...and they run $70-$150 each...for one engine...be prepared to spend some dough with N scale...I'm starting a layout myself...and that won't be DCC equipped
@vettelover2009 I know, its pretty crazy. I'm sticking on the low end for now while I plan and piece together a nice layout. Once I get my track set up for that I'll slowly build a collection of nice locos over time. Probably 1-2 a year. All of my hobbies are expensive, photography, model trains, and cars :) at least I can make money with the other ones, that'll help fund this one haha.
@OggOrbisMedia I have 4 Atlas GP38's in Santa Fe livery...and that is for a DC set of engines...I want to go DCC...but I need to get a decent layout going and get some good rolling stock as well...plus I'm getting scale speed motors for all my engines and hopefully they will all run pretty close so I can run them in a consist together...It's a lot of tedious work and expense...but the payoff is awesome...hope to do some steamers too
@vettelover2009 Sounds pretty nice, DCC seems to be the way to go when running multiple locos, I'm positive that's the route i'll go because I don't want to break up my track into powered sections. Plus the sound and light effects really tie everything together.
Every epic journey begins with a single step.

This was my starter set 2 years ago, great economical way to start, n-scale is the way to go.

@Petemonster62 Probably a Boston Uni student? Not that there is anything wrong with the fact that BU is easy, just guessing.
