  • these videos are great, im moving off the grid and building my own 16x16 solar cabin and this has def been a step up from graph paper : ) thank you google

  • 2million people already gave up from the first video... :)

  • This is the shittiest shit that has ever been shat into this shitty planet.

  • So, why exactly should I so absolutely refrain from intersecting edges?

  • There is an iPad app that lets you view sketchup models. Runs really fast and has measurements and solid cut planes. It's called iCAD Professional and it has a free demo version, iCAD Free.

  • @davidohyer Yes I had that in the engineering class I took in school. But it was the full version on the computer and was similar to this. That is why I got Google SketchUp

  • PLEASE REPLY!!! How do you make "Curved" edges?

  • what's up sketchup?

  • didn't understand rule 4

  • Did She Say Edges?

  • next: google ketchup

  • and now in 2011 you can cross an edge ov any edge

  • Guys! Check out the London3Dproject, to see the progress of modeling London, and watch tutorials of how we do it, and how you can get even better at modeling!

  • Google SauceUP

  • It's sad that SketchUp opens up Windows IE when I had Chrome as default browser.

  • @oybeutu

remove IE i guess, its useless anyway

  • Why is she saying "access" instead of "axis"?

  • @ib9rt She's not. Thats Googles New closed caption option. I just puts words in written words. And what version does she have i have 8.

  • @24242ME I did not even look at the closed captions, "access" is what I hear with my own ears. She also says "drong" instead of drawing and "zyoom" instead of zoom. Her accent and intonation is hilariously painful to listen to.

  • AUTO CAD IS SHITTING THEIR PANTS

  • /watch?v=pr6IOHWSKXs

  • annoying haters!

  • Google Ketchup

  • @TheMarabouStork

    LOL XD

  • How do i change my oil on my own thx

  • why the hell do you assume I've never touched a computer? I JUST WANT TO KNOW HOW TO MAKE SOMETHING WITH PROPER DIMENSIONS!! not how to draw a freaking edge that a 2 year old could do

  • Your voice is funny

  • Google sKetchUP

  • Googles Ketchup!

  • :D:D:D:D:D::D:

  • this is a curse on the world. i have to use it for a bio project. i just have to say. fuck you sketchup!

  • Plural of axis is AXES.

  • i would be happy if someone watched my vids :) Thanks :D

  • Me gusta, practicaré...

  • She likes big idea word LOL!

  • This video is outdated, edges that cross now create new endpoints in current versions of Sketchup.

  • Rule 4: Don't cross the streams.

  • in google sketch up can you draw characters from video games

  • If we can only make flat surfaces it's going to be hard making a circle... not a cylender.....

  • @MangaArtRay circles and cylinders are both really easy to make

  • @PlaystationWii96

Ah. Then how do you make rounded objects? Let's say, a cat, as an example.

Or is sketch-up just for architecture?

  • @MangaArtRay lol since when are cats round

  • @PlaystationWii96

    -imagines a sphere cat-

    Lol , I didn't mean that.

Like if this was any 3D modeling program (like blender for example) is it possible to make like a face? XD (With rounded edges and vertexs.)

I'm looking more to making 3D model humans. (Someone told me to use sketchup...)

Poor cat, I have to say, lol.

  • @MangaArtRay idk how to make a rounded thing like a face, but i thought you could, lol. I used to be able to make a sphere...

  • @PlaystationWii96

Oh well :\ then I guess I'll have to stick with the round cat, lol!

  • @MangaArtRay lol

  • @PlaystationWii96

Now a new question: Do you know how to change these file types into .X files?

(I forgot what abreviation it used XD)

  • this suck bitch i gonna use a rifle 2 kill u resident evil 4

  • E-IS FOR ED!

  • This was probably already said but surfaces can exist on there own, just turn off edges in the view menu ;-)

  • can somebody tell me what template did the instructor use? my view in creating standing rectangles for skyscrapers are distorted.

  • The 2nd rule about drawing edges:

YOU DON'T TALK ABOUT DRAWING EDGES.

  • @MidgarZolom LOL

  • EN ESPAÑOL POR FAVOR!!

  • @Caru4ever

Creo que tendremos que crear nuestras versiones de los videos.

  • pretty similar to autoCAD

  • how the hell?

  • The lines/edges looks soo rugged. Do you know how to make the lines softer? They look shitty when you print them out :(..

  • Video Quality I guess.

  • The program is not made to print the thing you do... but you can send them to another 3D program and take a RENDER of it

  • wär cool wen mich jemand vor meinen allein da sein rettet und der dauer langweile

  • ??? o.0

    alta...

  • u can't do edges which are uneven,u can rotate since the object's edges remain co-planer,but try to experiment with move and maybe u'll get what u wanted.

  • i want to create a shape without co-planer edges. How do you do that?

  • I don't think you can, but you can make many shapes next to each other to make them look like that.

  • I luv google sketchup, it's a great software. I want to make a 3D game and I I'm using this prgram to make models for my game. it works! ^_^

  • what do they mean at 5 minutes by "properly divided" it seems properly divided to me????

I see no problem with that division at all

  • Exactually. I thought they maybe meant that, if you tried to select one of the rectangles you had created inside the larger rectangle, it wouln't work poperly....bu it did.

There's no differance as far as I can tell.

  • my shape is connected and everything but its still not shading in =[

  • This is an excellent tutorial! I've imported a lot of SketchUp objects to my projects in Live Interior 3D. You can see some walkthroughs of my projects on my page.

  • ADGES!

  • How can I make an axe ?

  • They have one edge.

    It is called the circumference.

Your comment and ignorant insult is unacceptable.

    Calm down.

  • i know i was just trying to be funny

  • I completely disagree. I am using these videos to help teach this program to 7th grade art students, and they work quite well. If it was targeted towards the technically literate adult, then it would be useless for kids to learn. SketchUp is very useful as a "gateway" program to careers and more advanced programs, and my kids are eating it up.

    Good on ya, Google!

  • its not only a gateway but a fantastic way to quickly get ideas into the actual 3D realm, which furthers the design process rapidly and more precisely.

  • I'm in 7th grade. And I think the voice is a bit annoying. But I dont mind.

  • This looks like a more commercia/less technical version of Autodesk Inventor...

  • Only being able to draw to edges is dumb. It is incredibly limitiing.

  • the voice remind me that in the "voodoo dick" flash-movie :D

  • ok how do i make something rounded like a torpeode?

  • Click the O button in the tool box

  • what a house

  • would it be possible to make spheres in this, or rounded objects, like lets say a bar of soap?

  • yes there is a circle button near the top ... in the tool box

  • use the tepe measure

  • anyone knows how to measure the length of the block? tell me please

  • hello, how do you make a film of this? cause i want to make also a little movie of what i'm doing with sketch up.. do you use a program to film that? and pleasee tell what for program you use.

    thankss..

  • hypercam

  • Palkia323,

This is from google when you download SketchUp and is a new user.

  • Are you like the SketchUp Tut master? Nice vids!

  • Lol! It's called Google SketchUp

  • @gfault so what?

  • Quick question I haven't been able to solve. At around the 5min section of this video you create four equal squares with the lines. Now if you erase those divider lines, the original surface is still divided into four 'squares'. How do you re-join those squares to get the one large original sized surface.
