  • tried to post a link but it does not accept it. try a french link to " Operation Overlord"

  • I enjoyed your photos and I was able to pick Shrable out of several. Thanks

  • Look in to my photostream on Flikr and sea Shrable's pics in Korea and Laos.

  • Jake McNiece knew Shrable, acording to his book. I found some references and pics on some books but nothing much. I think he was the first man out of that plain, and also one of the first plains to arrive in Normandy. Its sad I cant find much more, after many years of looking for little bites and pieces. Thank you so much for you feedback. harg659.

  • Hi,all, its sad to sea Them going slowly. These are the men that diserv. all the credit. I am lost for words. Id love to know about Shrable D. Williams (Willy), was he a thilthy 13 or not? Long live the silent war heros of R lives. Respect

  • @GreenBaret66 I knew Shrable, he was a good friend of my father. He passed away in 1997. He didn't talk much about about his exploits there. I was talking with him once and I remember he said he landed in a swampy area with a lot of water and spent a good deal of the first day trying to find his unit....they were scattered everywhere.

  • @harg659 Hi are you in Flikr?I am allyperry66, I'd love to talk about Shrable D Williams and share some info. with you. allyperry66@yahoo.com. lol.

  • Outstanding tribute to these men of the 101st .. I had the honor of being in Normandy during the dedication of this fine memorial... well deserved for sure ! Currahee ! TCUNC76 !!!

  • My father, James E. Leech, was an original member of the Filthy 13. I was very pleased to learn about this monument.

  • Have you been in touch with my father, Jack Agnew? Thanks to Real for putting together this memorial, he built it himself and has been devoted to the memory of the Filthy Thirteen.

    Barbara Agnew Maloney

  • Hi Barbara - I had your email a few years ago when I first contacted you. No I haven't contacted your father, could you ask him if he remembers my dad. He was captured on the D-Day jump and spent the next year as a POW. THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR NOTE!!

  • My dad, James E. Leech, is standing on the right on the video at 7:56.

  • Thank you Barbara,

    very appreciated

  • Thanks for sharing this with us. Recently I had the distinct pleasure of meeting and listening to Jake McNeice, acting platoon sgt for this unit. At 89 he's still as frank and outspoken as ever. If anyone would like to help him and his wife by buying one of his books, "The Filthy Thirteen," please drop me a note and I'll be glad to put you in touch with him.

  • Une vidéo très émouvante avec une musique superbe ! Merci à Nikos021 et aux Filthy thirteen !
