waaay different meaning. as in, lots of rock bassists use jazz bass, but if a guitarist uses an f-hole guitar like lifeson did here, usually it'll not be for rocking the night out.

It's not a "jazz guitar." It's his prized 1976 Gibson ES-355, custom built to his specifications by Gibson after they gave him a VIP tour of the factory in 1976.  He once said in an interview that when he received it and opened up the case, it was so beautiful he almost cried. In closeups, you can see his name stamped on the nameplate on the bottom of the headstock.

Anyway, ES-355's are not "jazz guitars" per se. The pickups are hotter than a typical jazz guitar.

Dag Alex Lifeson can still rock it! They all can. Geddy's bass playing is the same as it was in 1981. And can't forget Neil Peart's vigor on the drums is the same too. This band kicks ass!
