  • Most Hawaiian people pronounce it uk, which is the traditional way, whereas the yuke pronunciation came from the american people. so he is saying it the correct way and no yuke is not correct, it is just more commonly used in the continental states and other places around the world.

  • It's pronounced with a long U like in cute. Not like a monkey going OOK OOK OOK!

  • @Gaeuvyen He actually pronounced it right, that's how traditional hawaiians say it.

  • @sclongisawesome That's not how traditional Hawaiians pronounced it as that would mean that the word goes against traditional Hawaiian pronunciation keys.

  • @sclongisawesome In fact, he's actuall pronouncing it a more modern English way. Which I guess technically means he is pronouncing it correctly, however it is more common to use the more traditional way with a long u.

  • finally starts at 1:37 :D

  • You are from NS? Sweet! What part?

  • Great!!

  • ho men thats good!!proud to be canadien!!!quebec canada.

  • @patrick20210 Quebecois are not Canadian, they're Quebecois.

  • @concretecubes hello yes ser province of quebec is in canada.but here in quebec the peaples speak french!!

  • @patrick20210 I am fully aware that Quebec is a Provence in Canada, I am saying that Quebecois are extremely racist, and want to split apart from Canada. you know the bloc Quebecois? they're main goal is to split Quebec from Canada, because they thin that Quebec is better then Canada. Quebec sucks. does not deserve to be in such a great country as Canada.

  • WHOA he just made that sound like a whole freaking band! ONE UKULELE DID THAT! Brilliant!

  • Any drummer with decent independance can do the foot and playing at the same time..Like if you agree

  • @paperpro3223 do it.

any person with a youtube account can say "anyone can do that"

  • @paperpro3223 how about organists? lot of foot pedals and more than one keyboard. how do they do that? lots of practice

  • lol, G string.

  • I could watch this for hours..

  • fuck i live in nova scotia!

  • does anyone know what uke he's playing?

  • @MrLongboardification look up G string ukuleles. if not then its custom or something lol

  • @Yokai671 i love those g string ukes. so pricey though! know where i can get a used one?

  • @MrLongboardification idk? ebay lol best of luck to ya

  • @MrLongboardification It is G-String. The owner and main luthier of the company made his 2 custom ukuleles for him after he released his first album. There have been reproductions by G-String for this particular model, marketed as the James Hill signature model. They were discontinued when James stopped exclusively using G-String. There are still quite a few floating around, but they'll cost you a pretty penny. When they were still in production, they went for about $3000.

  • Oh James, I never realized you were so...

    Canadian...

  • I'm waiting for James to combine his feet tapping and finger tapping simultaneously.

  • I arrived late last year to the Ukulele Festival but I'm going to make sure I get there early this year because it was the greatest!

  • this guy came to my school :)

  • thank you, i dont want the tabs

  • wtf, how is he doing this...?

    awesome :)

  • i really really want to learn how to play this song or at least play some songs that are similar. Does anyone kno the tuning?

  • @leo959 In Canada they use ADF#A tuning on their ukulele.

  • @hoorano No... I come from Canada and I use G C E A like everybody else... because canada is a place in the world like anywhere else... ;)

  • @politirin I've taken workshops in Canada with James and his mentors. They used ADF#B (not A at the end) open cord tuning. I used a capo to match their tuning. I could've used GCEA but Chalmers Doane insisted me to use the open D cord. Listen to the tuning of his ukulele carefully as James explains the music. It's a higher tone than the open C cord.

  • Dang! I love the tapping thing he does... When I was there I was all like, "What the heck! Is that even possible!" Same thing when he did 'Billie Jean'.... This dude's got some total pure and true talent....

All the Canadians do.... Tiffany A., Annie P., Justin Bieber..... I think their blood is just musically spiked....

    Watevs..........

  • @muzicsindasoul just beiber really?

  • @midgetgooch619 Hmmm....... Ya true dat.
