  • oh yes 2 wacom tablets for ambi drawing XD

  • this is great ;)

  • I NEED IT AND I NEED IT NOW

  • Why would anyone need/want two keyboards or mice? I don't get it.

  • Because two or more users use the same machine at same time on multiple screens.

  • Because you could have two hands in a game. Hack and slash for real :)

  • In case you want to run a virtual os on top of it, without locking up your only pointer and keyboard.

  • @grogtgs Another scenario:Two mice each connected to its own screen pointer, no physical keyboard, a portrait monitor with a virtual keyboard and other icons at the bottom of the screen. This way you can use the two mice to do your typing, text processing, desktop publishing, windows manipulation, surfing. etc, more efficiently than if you use a single mouse and a keyboard. Plus if you add some basic speech commands, like: COPY, PASTE, MOVE, SAVE, DELETE, etc, you will do so ultra fast...

  • Ok, so now I've updated to xorg-server 1.7.

Now what? Where's the Window Manager?

  • Is there any similar application for the mac? I've been looking for something that can do this for years.

  • but i only have two hands !!

  • Then use two keyboards

  • Why? It is easy to use and it is where most linux newbs start!

  • or if you could, not efficiently. since linux has multiple desktops, that automatically ads even MORE compatibility for a project like this, because someone could be working on 1 monitor with 1 esktop when another user has a separate monitor with a separate desktop and each person has their own keyboard and mouse. THAT is what i would call a workstation

  • hella especially if you could do it in a wearable PC and use VNC to all remote into the same box and work collaboratively.

  • well, you can have 1 user have access to all desktops but the vnc idea isn't bad, because you could have someone from another computer log in and they would have their own mouse pointer and keyboard, separate from everyone else. i think that would be very impressive, to see 3 people working on something different on the same computer at once but one of the people isn't even in the building. lol and then you can use a webcam so you can see their face andh ear them as if they were there

  • only for ubuntu :<

  • The X server is platform independent.

There is no such thing as "only for Ubuntu".

  • Excellent project!

  • Integration into xorg... NOW!

  • i heard it will be but do you have any idea when?

  • Thats cool =P

  • Its like you took my dream and made it reality :-) That is so cool. So how do you determine keyboard 1 from keyboard 2? Obviously the last keyboard to be plugged in but what if both ar plugged in on start up?

  • Why would u want to determine that? U just plug in all ur stupp and start workin

  • damn. Looking for something like this for windows. This is really great. I swear I remember my brother being able to do this with his amiga 2000.

  • awesome music :)

  • holy crap that is nuts

  • Really cool!

  • Can this work with Gnome?

How can you select multiple windows? Because... What if two texts are selected, and you press Ctrl+C (or Ctrl+Insert), which one gets copied?

  • where is the music from?

  • It could also be great as a improvement, replacement for the olpc.

So more than one person at a time could use a computer.

  • The point is not to support multiple mice but multiple ponters, which is required for multi-touch displays... that way you can operate the desktop with all ten fingers. Imagine a live-DJ mixing app with that...

  • This will be great for tablets like the Nokia 770/n800. Or a "Surface" clone running linux.

  • Yeah you got a point mobilecents! LOL

  • you probably don't want to be compiling something in the background during a demo vid...

  • That is a great idea... and the functionality of it can be amazing...

roidroid, you know its for multiple users...

  • Its amazing how it works...

Unfortunately its a bitch to get it to work... i will have to sit and take all my time to read the instructions on how to install it... cuz i really wanna test it =(

  • I love the music. How can I get it? :)666

  • epic idea!

But to use both left and right hands at once, some kindof tactile feedback would make a world of difference. Coz you can really only focus your eyes on one area at once, and in the real world if you can't see something you just kinda feel around for it. Oh well, hardware problem eh.
