@Dragonkiller1989 my gamertag is Beecher492. i found an easier way but takes more time i only get 1 assist at a time by doing it a different way. i want 2 do this so i can 3 at a time not 1 but this method is way 2 hard i cant just throw a random grenade up in the sky i tried 2 it like the video but i always miss or i dont get the checkpoint.

just did this, make sure once you and your second controller have thrown their grenades the first guy runs further along the cliffside, and the other guy walks backwards about 10 feet away from the ledge, only then will you get the checkpoint....good luck!

What also helps is the cowbell skull! Increase the splash damage of the greneade and hit all 3 grunts instead if 2 and get 3 assist instead of 2

Damn, I can't believe I got it to work perfectly. Took me 5 min to get it right but it was worth it. Before you do this practice throwing the grenades. Its the most important part

The most important part really, is what player 2 is doing. Yet this video focuses purely on player 1. What player 2 does is almost invisible in the bad quality.

Honestly, fuck this commendation. Much more trouble than it's worth.The guy in this video has another person on the other controller. It is impossible to do this alone, unless you are REALLY lucky.

I just did this boost and got three assists per revert. Put cowbell, thunderstorm, mythic on at legendary difficulty. The person that lobs the grenade high into the air needs to throw two grenades at slightly different vertical angles. Thanks for the video to get me started!

Here is a hint: The person, who will throw the grenade, should defeat the grunts, because then Jun starts shooting later than normal.

I tried 20 minutes without that and it never worked, but with this strategy, it worked by the 2nd attempt.

You can do this afk by turning on iron and having the person one the bottom screen kill the grunts/elite for a plasma. Then get the checkpoint while looking at the ground and tape the left trigger down.

finally got it with my brother. one person kills elite while the guy running up to the cliff kills both grunts, that way jun doesnt kill or shoot. he may shoot the odd time but he mostly wont shoot. then just get your spot/timing down PERFECT and you will atleast get a double kill

1kill the elite :D

2DONT kill the sleepy grunts , cuz jun gets down and star shooting :D

3 trow da fucking granade and run!!, when you com over the rock STOP running( 0:53 ) and get back the other player(like the vid did 0:51 ) and you will get the chekpoint!! , and the assist if you haver a nice arm ;)

Thanks so much for the video I only managed to catch one of those grunts, so it might take twice as long as you but I have the two things required to do this, patience, and lots of time so I'm sure I'll get Onyx soon which is great that will mean I'm almost done with the campaign which is cool cuz its getting boring.

why does it need to be on legendary? and why do you need thunderstorm and mythic and tilt?

@LordCassious it's so that the grunts are as strong as possible. I don't think tilt is necessary but I put it on anyways. You want to only weaken the grunts with the first grenade. If mythic and thunderstorm aren't on, they will die with the first grenade.

Well it takes several tries and isn't easy to get, but its possible. The actual reason for getting the checkpoint kills ur usually dont get, u need to get the checkpoint while the grenade is up in the and flying toward the enemies. it takes about 7sec for the high one to detonate so throw the other one like 2sec after the first one and u will be find. worked for me. thanks phatx for this nice idea!

@KreepyLoc you can do it with a friend and it helps him too because one person gets assists and the other gets grenade kills. I haven't even played xbox for over a month so maybe there is a more convenient way to do it now.

@RichardDyer93 like I said it's difficult. The grenade timing shouldn't be to difficult but once you throw both of them you must move forward with your guest and back up with your main account in order to get a checkpoint. And sometimes the enemies will be in different areas. Never use the assassination animation to kill the elite. It will wake nearby grunts.

@RichardDyer93 The AI is random and you can check your commednations on bungie.net It takes a while to update but it will in about 20 minutes or so.
