I'm balinese n I never treat foreigners like that. even I'm not really good in English, I always try to help them. if I can't give a good answer, I would say sorry... even the foreigners are not western or even they're not good looking...

I am a southeast asian student living in Korea and I do face this kind of thing but I'm used to it..익숙해졌어요.. once, I brought my friend from Malaysia ( tourist ) to Namdaemun and they would NOT let us in their shop .. that was the most serious and unforgeable racism experience ever .... I am used to such things but to my friend .. which is a tourist... this will give a very bad image upon korea..
이런 무시를 당하기에 익숙해져서 괜잖아요.. 근데 한국으로 온 관객한테 하면 .. 진짜 나쁜 first impression 을 줄거예요... 잘 생각해 보세요...
Um im not korean but i think that offensive. What happened to Korea being a nice place to live? God it's becoming more like America, and even there at least we help people REGARDLESS if they know english or not.
I wanna move to Korea one day to teach ESL but this is giving me some regrets...plus on the other hand, I know Korean fluently and I can write and read it. BUT on a down-note im half white and half black sooo being black in Korea is gonna kill me!! But I really wanna go :\
@KpopFunTV Aww don't lose hope. I think you will be fine even if you are a foreigner. There are a few black people on youtube who have been to Korea or are currently in Korea. Maybe you can ask them for advice. I'm also black and dream of traveling someday to places like China, Korea, and Japan, but will admit am a little concerned about people saying they're really racist there. But those certain youtubers make it seem like they exaggerated a bit.
On a side note, sometimes, when I see foreign people (Not necessary white people) that come to Korea asking for direction in English, I sometimes think it's quite ignorant for them to come to other people's country without trying to learn their language and culture. Of course, this is not true for everyone.
@McTheOutsiders Do tourist have to learn their language too? that's unfair...I can understand if tourist have to learn to say basic things like thank you and so on but directions??

This is based on Forigner's altitude. In Korea , There are many news about crimes of East Asians
. By seeing those news , Koreans think East asian mans have inherent danger.
Another fact is that that sceen is not our general situation. We usually want to help forigner.

우리나라사람들이 일본가서 당햇던 설움을 이제는 동남아 분들이 당하고 있군요. 그것도 피해자였던 우리에게.흠...저도 만약에 저분이 물어봤다면...그냥 지나갔을것 같네요. 부끄럽습니다.
