Norway gets the benefit of free trade within the EU without having the problems associated with being a full member.
P.S. I don't think that ever the queen, or the royal family in general, are over yet...a recent opinion poll found that 78% of the population still support the monarchy.
They will probably pay. I look at it as an investment. See, you were complaining of 3 bill. when Britains GDP is over 2000 bill. You know what I mean, 3 bill. is nothing compared to the export markets you are building. Plus NO and ICE already have to pay to hold on to their contract with EU, the amount is rising fast.
Social interference? Do you mean immigrants? NO and ICE have to take on the same rules and regs as EU states, the only difference is we don't get effect the policy making.
I accept that Free trade is a major advantage, and if the EU had stayed as a Free trade area, as it was when Britain joined, then i would support it. However it has moved to far and become too powerful, and done it in such a way that member states have been forced to relinquish more and more power, without the concent of their people. (Exception's of constetutions-frequently rejected)
I think we do get all the "problems", but the free trade is to important for us to give it up. The benefits of being outside EU is on the other hand as I said the fishing quotas, and also a free hand outside EU. For example. Iceland has sat down with China to negotiate a free trade, which will hopefully make us the first and only country to have landed such a contract with China. That will probably be vitamin injection to the trade in Iceland, as a possible middle men between China and EU.
Furthermore, for Britain, one of the richest and most powerful countrys in the world, to suddenly become just one of 25 is intolerable, and damages our power and ability to do what is best for Britain. By social problems i diden't mean immigrents, though they are a factor, i ment interfearence by EU courts, the CAP and fishing policies, MEPs and EU directives
First of all Britain would become as powerful as France and Germany if it would just get full on board EU. Sorry, Britain is somewhat powerful, but it has NO power unless it is aligned with EU. The only country/institution that can FORCE the U.S to back down from punitive business actions is the EU. Britain is missing the train, because you are backing the wrong horse, EU is the future. Imagine all the possibilites. All the wars EU countries have waged against one another, we can stop that.
It's just a bunch of scared Norwegian redneck's who think France and Germany are polluting their independence or some shit. EU is the future. It is the most beautiful idea ever.
Thanks for that...but then i think i would probably agree with the 'bunch of scared Norwegian redneck's', and i certainly don't think that the EU is the future
I only see now that it is you. The one I was debating with on another channel. Funny. Anyway consumer price would be down by 30% in Norway if they were in the EU. Look at Denmark and Sweden, they are not nearly as rich in natural resources as Norway, earn almost the same but live much cheaper.
BTW I saw on your profile: "God save the queen," well she is definitely going to need all the help she can get, the poor thing.
lol...yer, just out of interest how many languages do you speak? Seems to be quite a few. I don't know the exact situation with Norway, but i suspect that they would be required to pay in more money to the EU than they would get out (like the UK), as the EU budget is massively uneven, especially with farm subsidies. Also they don't suffer the same level of social interference from the EU, which is plaguing the UK.
I'm sorry for bashing you on channels for not producing arguments, I had not seen these comments.
I don't speak many languages, I just studied in Denmark for 6 months so I can handle Norwegian and Swedish also because they are very much alike the Danish.
The main reason that is stopping Norwegian from joining is the fishing stocks quota, the same reason goes for Iceland, where I come from. We point at Britain to argue how badly it will go, and there is a valid point for BR to complain here.
"EU-Grunloven vil stå over den nasjonale grunnloven"
