I was at this concert!I will never forget it!It was a beautiful night with a slight bite in the air.To me it was the last time I would ever hear Elton at his peak!If you can find it listen to his version of Talking Old Soldiers from this concert! I did't even have tickets for this concert, and my girlfriend and I went up to will call, and a couple ahead of us turned down 2 tickets that sold for about $400 each, and we walked up and the person said these are the last 2 left!We said will take them!
this is pure brilliance. as we know hes been playing now for over 50 years which is unbelievable until you really think about it, and what i find amazing is that he never seems bored of doing this over and over again. it actually cracks me up sometimes when i watch his live performances because of how fantastic he makes his music, and how he improvises so accurately. he is to me the god of music.
first, how could anyone dislike this???? I saw Elton in Wilkes Barre, PA and one of his staffers came up to my date and I and gave us front row tickets!!! It was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. He truly is a gift. If you havent seen him live, then you should go as soon as you can.
@studovicmedia yes but it's midi'd up so most of the sound you hear (or all of it judging by this) isn't hammer on string but a series of layered samples from Roland and Yamaha racks I believe. Why on earth you'd choose that I don't know. With Ray Cooper it's not like he needs to cut through a heavy band sound
For me, the best music reaches inside you, grabs hold of your soul and takes you wherever it wants to go, gives you goosebumps and brings a tear of joy to your eye. Here is a perfect example, thank God I'm alive and able to hear and feel this.
Thanks so much. I'm very glad to see that Elton's musical prowess has brought others the same inspiration and enjoyment. Having been brought up on country music, I never once thought that i would be doing it for a living. Yet I've taken the soulful, elegant sound that I learned from Elton and have fashioned it into a brand new rockin' "piano country" sound. If you like this, be sure to keep your ears open for Silas Jones. Find me on Myspace. Would love to hear from you. Music coming soon.
I have to agree with VladWolf82 I'm also a pianist and there no one at there like Elton’s piano playing. It’s his own style not jazzy blues or classical etc... Its Elton style of playing that what really got me to play piano. I could been any teenager and pick guitar or drums but Elton piano is just magic it was an no brainier choose
Listen to Michael Tsarion on the youtube. He is the worlds premier conspiracy researcher/lecturer/author. Dr. Bill Deagle and Alexandre Dumas pere are highly informative as well.
Being a successful musician, i've been asked many times over the years what some of the things were that inspired me to become the pianist and songwriter i am today. This very performance of levon was the main factor. I saw this concert at 13 years old on the disney channel. As soon as i heard the piano solo at the end, i stood up and said "THAT is what i want to do for the rest of my life!!!" And i have ever since...
@VladWolf82 I love your comment about Elton john Levon live video. I have always loved Elton and I'm glad that one of his performances inspired you to fulfill your dream.

Piano sounds horrible. A $100,000 grand piano should have more sustain and dynamics than that. Terrible Roland sampled sound he uses.

..if you think that is a wild outfit, you should look at what he wore in the 70s.
