Can someone explain what the different types of orangatang is. Im about to get a tan tien and i can order it with "4 President" and "Stimulus" the stimulus have 83a and 86a and same with 4 president just that they have 80a. What does it means a and all that.

@MachinimaBook each wheel has a durometer, the higher the number before the "a" the harder the wheel is. an 80a wheell is soft for orangutangs wheels and provides a smooth, grippy-ish ride. the 83a's are a bit harder and you can slide as well as carve. the 86a's are quite hard and will be great for sliding although if you carve too hard you may slide out. Basically if u want to slide go the 4prez yellows(86a), if u want to do a bit of both the purple 83a stims, and go the 80a for a smooth ride

Durometer is one of several measures of the hardness of a material. Durometer is typically used as a measure of hardness in polymers, elastomers and rubbers (like longboard wheels)

There are several scales of durometer, used for materials with different properties. The two most common scales, using slightly different measurement systems, are the ASTM D2240 type A and type D scales. The A scale is for softer plastics, while the D scale is for harder ones.

@acemcgee100 It measures how hard the wheels are, 80a grips better and is harder to initiate a slide with than say a 90a, generally, of course. Different thans can make lower duros slidier and higher duros grippier, but that's generally what it means. The size won't change how you slide much, just board height, chance of wheelbite, and speed.

4President's are not really designed for sliding. You want to look at the Fat Frees, Stimulus, or Durians. Those rounded edges will really help you get your slide going. However, if you are going for sliding with 4Presidents, I'd go with the 86a Yellows. But make sure you REALLY break them in, otherwise you'll be doing a face plant when the board just stops. ;)
