Timi Yuro was a black woman trapped in a white woman's body; she had been marketed as a second Dinah Washington by using Mss D's longtime producers, Belford Hendricks and Clyde Otis, even signing to Miss D's label, Mercury Records but alas, neither Mercury, nor her first label, Liberty Records, knew how to correctly promote this phenomenal talent. Timi was adored outside of the U.S., her 60's 78 rpm records pressed in the Philippines are priceless collectors items on the Liberty and Era labels.
She seemed to have the most lyal fans that stayed with her. Not many singers can say that as loads of them get forgotten. We know she was great and I feel sorry for the people who have never had the pleasure of hearing her.
Watching her on youtube she seemed overwhelmed at the reception,, so perhaps she did know.
I have all she ever released, and two signed albums. I don't care how much they are worth, as they will stay with me .
I see that "It'll never be over for me" is worth a thousand dollars.I never thought her records would ever be so valuable to collectors. I can't understand why it is that particular record. I hardly ever played it because I played the album instead, which I have had transferred to cd.
I love her and own nearly everything she ever recorded. Including Timi and Willie.... She can flat out belt out feeling!! Thanks for posting one of my favorites!
Timi Yuro is one of the all-time greats and this swinging song is a great example...rivals Sinatra, etc and makes one wonder why Timi didn't have greater commerical success as artistically she is at the top...Bravo Timi!!!
How right! This voice comes along once in a "Trillian" times. Love Timi RIP

This kind of talent is very rare. She deserved alot better than she got. Wish I could have seen her in person.

I never wanted her to stop. What a great singer. God, why was she never a star? Life was so cruel to her

Ah, but she was a star. She had many hit records, and has a star place in the hearts of those who were and are touched by that amazing voice.

We are very lucky, I think.

A top 3 female 'pop' vocalist of the 20th Century. Period.
This version is how Bobby Darin would have done it, if he'd done it.

Great job of song reconstruction here-like Vikki Carr does on some of her stuff.
Which makes you wonder whether Phil Spector tried to nick some of her demos the same as he did with Vikki
