  • Hickstead..the most amazing jumper i've seen..i dont think we'll ever see a jumper so amazing... :( he dies last month and i miss him so much already...loved watching him jump and win all those rounds... :(

  • Hickstead was only 15 or so years old when he died, last month. he was still quite young

  • Rust in vrede . Je blijft altijd in mijn hartje hickii ' Niemand gaat dat bepalen schat '3

  • R.I.P. Hickstead. I saw him in the prelims, and knew he was amazing. Such a tragic loss to the equestrian world.

  • Rest In Peace Hickstead, you were the most amazing horse I'v ever seen :'-(

  • at 2:18 i bet he was thinking "man why cant this be MY horse??"

  • Thank you so much for posting this video. This is how I want to remember Hickstead. In all his glory, not his pain and suffering. I wish that people would get past the point of "it's my right" and reach a point of understanding where their responsibilities are. Where does the bloodlust and "curiosity" end? While it's tragic that Hickstead passed away, it is disheartening that people aspired to watch this horse suffer as he did.

  • I can't believe he is really gone...

  • rip

  • RIP, lovely horse.

  • RIP Hickstead ! :-(

  • R.I.P <3 Hickstead :'(((((

  • RIP HICKSTEAD ! ;(

  • RIP Hickstead .. <3

  • what about Gem Twist? they all are great horses. I mean look how the try so hard, they fly over the fences.

  • Fu...ng stupid that they switch horses.

  • oops sorry, I meant Rodrigo Pessoa got a raw deal with Vigo in the last round.

  • I think Philippe deserved the win. yes Hickstead is an amazing horse, probably my favorite, but I loved the way Le Jeune rode him and the other horses. he handled all of them beautifully, they all seemed to like performing for him and that is quite the task.

as for Eric Lamaze, I think he got a raw deal riding Vigo in the last round when he was so tired. IIRC, Vigo had been been out with an injury, and I guess with the training missed because of it he didn't the stamina to go four rounds.

  • @boothimyours not just the injury Vigo and Rebozo both have less thoroughbred blood, so they just lost intrest and naturally didn't have as much stamina but great for a rider to become a world champion on the worlds best horse, (Hickstead's owners got presented an award for Hickstead winning the most competitions then other horses in the year)

  • @2101lovelilly - Hickstead has TEN different types of Blood. - Question: How many Dutch mares to you see winning at CSI5****** ? not too many

  • @boothimyours Now he's dead why ride them on that good hore behind he gets kolieken they are crazy

  • i LOVE how he goes and tacks up his own horse :) he loves that gorgeous mare SO MUCH and its adorable.

  • Beautiful!

  • I love the saddle he's using. Does anyone know what brand it is?

  • @Docciee Tolga? I'm not sure

  • @fleurke It's probably Antares, it's his sponsor

  • @chrissy123m

    Think you're right!

  • Great day for Belgium when Philippe Le Jeune & Vigo d'Arsouilles won the World Championship

  • FELICITATIONS DE NOTRE PART, LAURENCE ET LIONEL COLLARD-BOVY, ARGENTINA.

  • Hickstead, in my opinion is the greatest show jumper, ever.

  • @melc1949 Agreed! 100%

  • @jinxedcm ... Milton was a great horse. So was Big Ben. So was Judgement. So is Sapphire. But Hickstead is perhaps the most consistent, sharp, careful, generous horse ever seen. I think Philippe Le Jeune owes his victory in large part to the flawless jumping of Hickstead. And it was nice to see a top rider so obviously affectionate to his horse, and to Hickstead.

  • @melc1949 Hickstead is amazing, but I think giving him the credit for le Jeune's victory is a bit too much. Vigo jumped amazing in every round, it was only in the very last round with Rodrigo that he had faults. Vigo was the one to bring Le Jeune to the final. Phillpe was so far ahead of the other ridres that he could afford 4 faults in his last round and still become world champion.

  • @melc1949 - so Philippe Le Jeune's own horse gets no credit from you?

  • @melc1949 R.I.P. Hickstead.

  • @melc1949 What about Halla.

  • i realy like his horse :O

  • @Xangelz9 Hickstead is Eric Lamaze's horse

  • ...words can't express, congratulations !

  • Very impressive, beautiful jumps!

  • This may be the best show jumper of all time. What a freaking amazing horse!

  • La récompense hautement méritée d' années de travail et de patience .....nos plus chaleureuses félicitaions ...famille Petit .

  • I'm loving this horse ! Although my favorite was Shutterfly. Perfect ride as well !
