@Tophawtdog4411 I don't think Public really put much difference in Dark Souls and Demon's Souls besides "it's better." There are many variances that are included between the two games. If you're looking for more multiplayer opportunities, then Dark Souls is your answer, considering Demon's servers are closing down soon. Also the fact that only Demon's Souls has a town hub. In Dark Souls, all you have for homely comfort is the bonfire, other than that..well yeah pretty close.
you guys are idiots lol. Ive played all the Elder Scrolls and Morrowind and Skyrim are by far the best. Ive played Demon Souls and Dark Souls and are a nice change of pace from elder scrolls games. Ive put over 230hrs into Skyrim so far but when i want a real challenge and some awesome boss fight i put in Dark Souls. Both are AMAZING rpg series. Do your self a favor and play both and love them for what they are

Theres 0 checkpoints, you lose ALL your souls when you die, and the only way to get them back is to go back to the spot where you died (which you will most likely die at AGAIN anyway) and to top it all off, those stupid fucking knights can heal themselves and then one shot you right when your about to kill them. Of course the game is hard, brutally hard, but you never die in this game because the game decides to throw you an unfair obstacle. The knights can heal, so can you. You die twice on one level, you must not have learned what not to do. I know what you mean; I lost 10,000 souls in one sitting, but it was my own brash actions that caused me to lose them.
@bulldog300 I am very familiar with games focusing on "skill" gameplay, designed to be difficult such as the Ninja Gaiden Series, Mortal Kombat, Super Meat Boy, IWBTG, and so on, but those are actually SKILL based, this is just... I can't really think of the word... Rinse and repeat, which is just tedious. When i'm almost forced to look up walkthroughs, that's not good. I played 3 hours of 1-2 and still haven't figured out how to efficiently beat it. Respawning AI is also rediculous.
@bud389 God knows im trying to enjoy the game, but all the flaws (lack of ANY sort of checkpoint system, respawning enemies EVERY time you die instead of just when you leave the realm, unable to sell items to get souls -i haven't found any places to sell shit atleast- and the fire breathe from dragons -which for some reason is also able to knock you down-) all seem to work against the game. If dark souls is exactly like Demons Souls then i may have to seriously reconsider buying it.

Not counting the tutorial boss, i beat the first boss without dieing once, but then the difficulty ramps up to where dragon breathe attacks on the walls will take down 4/5ths of your health, WHILE arrows are being fired at you and WHILE the entrances to the other side are guarded by fucking knights and spearmen... It's fucked up.
@bud389 Well, I just popped it back in and made it to the boss of the 1-2. You only sprint across two sections of the bridge. Sprint across one section, then go under the bridge where the dogs are, come back up, sprint across another section stopping in front of the wagon to the right of the crossbowmen, kill them with power attacks, fight the first knight, then the one in front of the portal, and you'll see the next boss. It's not that hard lol.
@ToxicGarbageMan I made it past that section and defeated the armored spider in the Burrows (had to see a walkthrough, yet again) and now im stuck as i can't advance in any of the other worlds since i keep dieing because of how low my health is. I refuse to grind to get more levels because grinding means that they didn't feel like implementing smooth difficulty transitions.
@bud389 There's no difficulty increase and decrease, just a change up in how you have to approach things. Throughout the whole game, you can be killed in a manner of 3 or 4 shots. It's mitigated through experiencing an enemy and knowing what you have to do to kill it, not by grinding or having a huge soul level. The fact you kill things after looking up walkthroughs proves that, so no, your point doesn't stand.

@bobbyjr618 Royalty. You get a long range, powerful spell that you can use through at least half the game, you can still use swords and stuff, and you get an item that allows you to regen mana, which is ridiculously useful early on. you can sit back and one-shot a lot of enemies

@FurkoTurk0 Well you can start both Dark souls and demon souls have really nothing to do with each other story wise (its just a spiritual succesor) so if demons is too hard try dark souls. you get checkpoints in dark souls :D so its like how Ocarina of time has pretty much no relation to Twilight princess/wind waker story wise just the gameplay is the same.

@TheCultureshock101 Yes it is very difficult. However, it's difficult by design. If you die, it is because you messed up. There are no cheap deaths in this game. With that you get a sense of accomplishment when you progress
And for that matter, how do you, the player character, have the ability to see and take souls? Aren't you just an ordinary knight? Or are you a soul now? and if you're a soul, then shouldn't you be a ghost, and not even have the original equipment?
I also noticed that there seems to be a profound lack of a plot so far. Sure, there's the introduction, and the chick that brought you back to life (?) and never explains why, but it doesn't elaborate on why you're there. What's your stake in this?
I noticed you have a few soldier's souls, so I feel the need to ask- What does the "unnamed soldier's soul" do? If the soldier died fighting the zombies, then shouldn't his soul have already been eaten by them? And if not, then why didn't his soul move onto heaven or hell or whatnot?

@TheUnforgiven90 i believe ur talking about the knight with red eyes that's on the right side after u climb the stairs, he's protecting the entrance to the mausoleum, u should not go there until u have the key from Ostrava either by killing him or helping him all the way until 4-1 when he's by the stairs when ur about to fight his father, once u get the key make sure ur at a higher level, more than 100 really, cause its not the knight thats a problem its the old king inside the mausoleum.

knight is gud at defence but bad at evade similarly wanderer is gud at evade bad at defence and the auto save feature is very bad because once you died you cannot continue where you saved as physical form.and you have to try again again..............................................................but gud game!
@superxgamer20112 I started as a Wanderer for my first playthrough, like 2 mins after i got the game. And really in the first part of the game defence isn't really needed but once you get farther defence is pretty much useless and dodging is what counts, you know? Like in 3-2 ManEater boss, that guy smashes aside most shields (my adjudicator shield blocked but used up 97% of my stamina) and magic using bosses unless you got dark silver or rune dodging is the way to go. so i'd go with wanderer =D
try to quit game when a enemy tries to kill you by pressing ps button if timing is perfect then you will not die even one time works well i tested it many times i m about to complete NG+ without dying using this method

U know that mini boss with spear ? there where warining hints like; don't go there without a soul lvl in 80 or something. I was in 18 and i like ; oopps! aa shit the same! i go there and kill him and did not even hurt me, and i did'nt do a glitch ! i just walk infront of him and he try to hit me, but i just avoid and smashed the hell out of him! XD
A great way to pass through this first part is by backstabbing your enemies. It'll kill most of them in one hit, and it makes those blue faced knights quite easy to kill too.
Oh and btw, I found this game quite less difficult while playing with Royalty. It's a great character for beginners. Hell, I even managed to kill that dragon before I got to the second boss of Boletaria!

I refuse to grind to get more levels because grinding means that they didn't feel like implementing smooth difficulty transitions.

@bud389 There's no difficulty increase and decrease, just a change up in how you have to approach things. Throughout the whole game, you can be killed in a manner of 3 or 4 shots. It's mitigated through experiencing an enemy and knowing what you have to do to kill it, not by grinding or having a huge soul level. The fact you kill things after looking up walkthroughs proves that, so no, your point doesn't stand.

And Ninja Gaiden is easy, mindless reflex on the NES (a blast back then, beat it when I was 4, without the wall glitch), and on following consoles just moreso with an extra dimension. @bobbyjr618 Royalty. You get a long range, powerful spell that you can use through at least half the game, you can still use swords and stuff, and you get an item that allows you to regen mana, which is ridiculously useful early on. you can sit back and one-shot a lot of enemies

@FurkoTurk0 Well you can start both Dark souls and demon souls have really nothing to do with each other story wise (its just a spiritual succesor) so if demons is too hard try dark souls. you get checkpoints in dark souls :D so its like how Ocarina of time has pretty much no relation to Twilight princess/wind waker story wise just the gameplay is the same.

@TheUnforgiven90 i believe ur talking about the knight with red eyes that's on the right side after u climb the stairs, he's protecting the entrance to the mausoleum, u should not go there until u have the key from Ostrava either by killing him or helping him all the way until 4-1 when he's by the stairs when ur about to fight his father, once u get the key make sure ur at a higher level, more than 100 really, cause its not the knight thats a problem its the old king inside the mausoleum.

knight is gud at defence but bad at evade similarly wanderer is gud at evade bad at defence and the auto save feature is very bad because once you died you cannot continue where you saved as physical form.and you have to try again again..............................................................but gud game!

@superxgamer20112 I started as a Wanderer for my first playthrough, like 2 mins after i got the game. And really in the first part of the game defence isn't really needed but once you get farther defence is pretty much useless and dodging is what counts, you know? Like in 3-2 ManEater boss, that guy smashes aside most shields (my adjudicator shield blocked but used up 97% of my stamina) and magic using bosses unless you got dark silver or rune dodging is the way to go. so i'd go with wanderer =D

A great way to pass through this first part is by backstabbing your enemies. It'll kill most of them in one hit, and it makes those blue faced knights quite easy to kill too.
Oh and btw, I found this game quite less difficult while playing with Royalty. It's a great character for beginners. Hell, I even managed to kill that dragon before I got to the second boss of Boletaria!

Damn you Youtube you've changed. You lag because the ads to the right of you flash and when i try to switch to full screen theirs nothing but a black screen and the time on the video stops. What happened to you Youtube you used to be cool:(

@BlackStar427 well in the beginning yes but later you can wield any weapon as long as you have the stats or items required
