Why on earth are you using alternating grip on shrugs? You are not even doing that much weight. Alternating grip should only be used when the weight is so heavy that your normal grip fail.

True, I used to do side lats like that too for like a few months till i realized the proper form. Hopefully he reads up more and tries to further improve his form.

I agree. Too heavy, and on the side lat raises, he heaves the weights from in front of his waist...the weights should rest at the side of the legs...
However, he is trying, and he will learn eventually to do them correctly.
