HD4890 Gameplay - Need for Speed: Shift

This game is not friendly in ATI GPU,or Crossfire,when I play NFS:Shift,It must disable my 5770 Crossfire....but still not very smooth.......lol

there is a flaw when upgrading the civic, upgrading to lvl2-3 engine and turbo the rpm range is out of wack, I HATE IT

always constant at 5-7k rpm, annoying as hell

I think thhe game is awesome, but I just would put cars like Jaguar XJ220, a mini cooper S hot chili (they r really cool, I have one =)) Formula 1 koenigsegg Agera, etc. but it really contains other great cars. Finally EA made a good job, but I miss being around the city causing chaos, like in NFS carbon ( I also have it) but good vid. man!

But the mirror is kinda what they have expected to be realistic and to let the driver have full control, that's why you can't see the interior of the car in the mirror. It only let's you see the cars behind you :D

i have tons of lag on my Win7 boot and no lag at all on Win Vista (using the same drivers).

Go figure... =/

Actually no man.

Shift does look good compared to GT3 and GT4, but it doesn't have as many cars and the physics doesn't feel as realistic as GT do.

But, overall, is a great game

Has real tracks and lots of races and events and the graphics looks great.

Shift is truly one of my favorite racing games. One of it´s biggest flaws is making cars in the game slower then in real life. I have driven a real Civic Si, it´s notably faster then the one in the game. 0-100km/h will take 8s in real life, in the game it takes 10s to reach 100km/h. In the game the Si takes quite a big deal of effort to reach 200km/h, unlike the car in real life. Btw, Civic Si I have driven is a 4-door saloon with 192hp, wich is the only version available here in Brazil.

in the game the speed is in mph but on the bottom right its in km/h...plus the si does 100km in like 6.7-7 sec. not 8...

6.7s is excessiveley optimistic for the Civic Si. We don´t have the coupe here in Brazil, but I´m sure it can´t be so much quicker then the sedan, wich actually does 7.9s-8.5s in tests made by the press. Either way, the model in the game takes 10s to reach 100km/h (or 62mph, if you look at the dashboard), wich is far from what the real car does. In fact, the Civic Si in the game feels more like regular 1.8-litre 140hp Civic, wich will do 0-100km/h in around 9-10s...

it has an arcade physics, BUT, theres some mods around the "internetz" that modifys the physics, so, the cars feels more realistic :)

try looking for real mod 2.0

Actually, it doesn't have arcade physics at all. Shift is actually a sim(faster and more detailed engine that Forza Motorsport 3). All the mods do is make it handle like GTR, not necessarily improving it or making it more realistic considering Shift's engine is an improvement over GTR's and is Slightly Mad Studio's best.

yeh its a great racing game, quite easy to get used to at first, but turn off Traction control, braking control and the rest of the cpu controlled devices and it becomes fiendishly hard to control. Controls great with a pad but i'm yet to try it with a wheel as mine refuses to work under Vista :( Great video Inetol by the way ;)

I drive the same car and let me tell you, they got the interior dash and overall cockpit down. EVERYTHING is there. It's almost as if I'm in MY car.

The only issue i see is the revving. In the game, the car seems to rev too slow. In real life, it gets to the red line much quicker. It's so cool how they got EVERYTHING in the cockpit down. Even the door handles and the knobs on the stereo and A/C.

Very impressive.

it's rear wheel drive, can be used for both grip and drifting and has a great handling :)

I played it on XFX HD4890 XXX 1GB. But the problem is the FPS is not stable, sometimes The FPS drop to much.

MyPC spec:

-Core2Quad q9650 @3.0 GHZ

-Dominator 2X2GB @800 MHZ ram

-Gigabyte P31 DS3l

-WD 500 GB Caviar Green

-Windows Vista SP2 ultimate

i get an average of 80fps with a lot of cars on sight and maxed settings (in the description).

About crysis, i can run it smootly at 1680x1050 with aax4 and everything set to VERY HIGH.

The HD4890 is a great GPU, but here´s a little tip

wait another week and the new HD5000 series from ATI will be released. The new HD5870 seens to be at leats 20% faster than a GTX 295 and a HD4870x2
