I made a video in 720p HD which I tested on my HP Mini 1115NR netbook and it ran fine, no lag or anything. you can see the video on my channel, it's called Call of Duty 4: Aftermath. Anyway, it ran fine with an Intel Atom 1.6GHz processor, 1 GB ram, and a 16GB SSD.
does the 7200 rpm hdd help? cuz mine originally came with the 5400rpm one, but it was only 120gb, so i installed 200gb 4200rpm but i didnt see any difference in performance, will it help if i buy the 320gb 7200rpm hdd??? T.I.A.
Hi Guys. I want to buy an ultraportable laptop and im concitering the mini note. mostley im goin to use the computer to watch movies on my way from and to school, becuse i take the train every day ? So is this a cool laptop for downloading and watch movies ?
Great mate, thanks for the feedback. What would you say about simple multitasking with XP, like firefox plus msn live plus winamp? The thing about firefox is that it depends on how many tabs we are talking about, and also if one is loading several youtube videos in different tabs, that adds up a lot.
It'd be interesting to see how VMware performs, and then there is my intended idea: remote assistance controlling a fast desktop :D
PS: I knew it was you. Wanted to make sure and just do it
Hey, thanks for replying. What about usual series and movies which are 700mb or 350mb format? From what I've read those are lower than 480p (720x480p), however some videos are like 632x516 (just an example), would they work? In some forum I read someone commenting they could play Superbad 700mb fine without frame dropping. Most downloaded movies are like 652x272 (when format 2:35 instead of 16:9) so I suppose they should work fine. Thanks
That someone was me, lol. It does play those 700Mb 650ish X 300ish fine in fullscreen. I also had a higher quality rip that played great as well. I'll have a video soon! (working on getting a better camera so that clicking isn't there)
Probaly not... It struggles with 480p Quick Time trailers, and the 720p ones are terrible. I also tried a 720p WMV file and it dropped a lot of frames (was just as bad as QuickTime)

I 2nd that request!!!
my sanyo Xacti video camera would be very happy to be able to off load 720p video and playback on the Mini-note 2133 whilst on holiday.
But can the via chipset handle such video?
simonddavies 3 years ago
Hey, could you try a 720p video? MKV, Divx, Xvid too?
Maybe for 700mb movies it's alright but for 1.4gb ac3 hr files not so much. Thanks, regards.
