My first New Age purchase was a cassette of a Wyndham Hill sampler that included this song. Still a favorite. And Cape Cod is beautiful. I would love to go there someday.
Wonderful music by a superb guitarist and composer. Interestingly, Mr De Grassi claims the theme was inspired in part by the Police song "Don't Stand So Close to Me", which is clear, and may be why it strikes a sympathetic chord from the outset. Bet Sting wishes he'd written this :-)
Great choice of music and imagery. I love Alex de Grassi and his music very much reminds me of nature. I often listen to him driving to and from bird watching locations. Excellent!
My favorite Alex Degrassi song but in light of what's happening in the Gulf of Mexico with the BP oil spill, I find the video absolutely heart-breaking in its peaceful look at the so far untroubled waters off the Cape.
One of the most sensitive guitarists to ever exist, and he's got some monster chops to boot. Should be heralded as one of the great virtuosos of any instrument ever, at least in the Western world.
I have this CD too. Lost it in a move and had to hunt down another one as it's out of print. But...I do have the Alex de Grassi CD that Western is from too. :-)
Mr. De Grassi really has his shit figured out. His ability to capture that cascading, waterfall-like atmopshere simply on an acoustic guitar is outstanding. Nice video, the shots go very well with the music! That "like a machine" part is pretty tough to play. I've had my share of finger-cuts from that sequence, wacky fingering.
I love this video. It compliments the music rather nicely. And I have to say that Alex De Grassi is not only one of the best guitarists in the world, but one of the nicest people I've ever met as well. I worked staff for a free show he played in Ukiah, California and was absolutely mesmerised by his performance.
I had it too but it got misplaced in a move. I will probably buy another one. I think it's his best. I just enjoyed this visual so much I thought it would be great to see more videos from that album as lovely and soothing as this one. Thanks KWBSYSTEMS.
I totally disagree with Rexicano. The music has a pensive feel to me and the video matches well. FWIW, there are beaches like that on the west coast....think northern Cali in the early morning/evening. I also love the ambient sounds...makes me feel like I'm on the beach listening to Alex on the radio while taking pleasure in nature....
The film seems shot by someone who has no feel for the music at all. This is one of Alex's best pieces...what a pity! The bird sounds and waves intrude rather than ornament....gaaak! Foggy cold beach feels like East Coast rather than Western. Clueless Video work.
esta cancion es realmente unica comenzando por su afinacion, me lleva a cada uno de los lugares que aparecen en este video.
