Why do we need v8 muscle? Have you ever driven a V8 powered sports car before? Ever?  Go out and drive one. Then take a ride in one that's boosted. You'll understand real quickly why V8's are so popular. There is no replacement for displacement.

Turbo lag is almost non-existent with a big displacement motor. You don't have to rev to 5k plus to make boost with a V8. Try making full boost before 3500 rpms with a T67. You can't.
