It's caused mainly by changes in the sun's output, as evidenced by the fact that planets throughout the solar system are warming. I also believe that the Earth's wobble has something to do with it. The Earth is not a perfect circle. It bulges in the middle and that causes it to wobble on it's axis by 23 degrees every 26,000 years. This is the reason for the "pole shift in 2012" theory you hear about.

The stratosphere (warmed by the sun) is cooling. The troposphere (warmed by greenhouse gass) is warming. And most of the warming is at night and in the winter - it would be day and summer if it was the sun.

They also measure the heat input and output at the top of the atmosphere. The input is NOT increasing yet the output is decreasing - producing a net warming explainable by greenhouse gases but NOT by the sun!
