Big Ups & MUCH RESPECT to the Spinners on the turntables: DJ’s Larry Patterson (my FORMER next door neighbor, RIP), Francois K (Kevorkian), Tee Scott, Tony Humphries, & Larry Levan (RIP)
This came out on underground records in 1984 but didnt hit the charts till 1985 when people wondered what the fuck it was, lol, your way out on 1989,this was out before Marrs-Pump Up The Volume
@mmcarr910 The year was not 1989. I DJ'd in the 80/90. I had this on white label in late 1985!!! I1n 1987 it made No1 in the UK charts. It may have come out sooner in the US. It ploughed the way for Chicago House Music in 1986/87. We'd play it 3/4 times a night and the dance crews (sonic 5 and Force 10 - respect) went crazy. Happy Days my friend. Jack your Body!!!
Aaaaaaaaaaw!!! The dance was "The Whop" the year was 1984 and we killed it, the entire Club Sensations in Newark, NJ. No body hardly held the walls up. People came to dance and have a good time. Everybody had their crew and we hit the floor, in the mirror, on the stage all night. At that time, all the hottest artists, performed their songs live at Sensations and at the Eleganza. It was of many awesome times in my life.
Aw, HAYELL YEA HAYELL YEA!! This one blew tha roof off tha Mutha. This one had kids learning to play keys in tha hood! This one had me screamin' drunk with tha guy on tha record (HAAYYYyyy...!!) LoL This one put House Music on tha map outside chicago, along with the House Music Anthem.
@tonyluvzdominica - oh Yes it did!!! This one put House Music on tha map even down here in India!!!! Remember going nuts when I first heard it in 86 - I must've been what.... 14 - 15 then??!!!??
Jack Your Body and House Nation? Good choices! House Nation had a good video too! There were some other trax worthy of mention - Marshall Jefferson, Jack and Chill... The thing people forget when they talk about '88 the year of acid is that those jack-house classics came out in '87. This one hit UK No.1 in January of '87!
i remember mixing this back in the day in nyc house parties. i was at idrc for 2 years and 98.7 kiss fm .met all kinds of artists. chip e & quest were my faves. peace.
